This is just getting embarrassing.

What sport can American men even be competitive in anymore?

It's really a great metaphor for the US's position in the world generally, isn't it?

Wasn't that only after perma-banning the Japanese guy for being too good?

I don't see LeBron on the roster. Is he playing for China now?

KD can't win with them Kats.

Matthew Dellavedova,

How is the Olympic officiating?  Do they let you dive at player's knees and roll over on their ankles under the guise that you're just out there hustling?

Nah, Chestnut beat him straight up and has been getting more and more down. But yeah Kobayashi doesn't participate anymore due to disputes with Major League Eating (yes, a real thing).

Chestnut's deal with them is coming up soon and there may just end up being a "super league" of Chestnut vs. Kobayashi in the future.

/I am not sure why I know so much about this
//oh yeah I do, it was on Stupodity and that was one of the episodes I downloaded 'cause I ran out of other LeBatard content
///Chestnut seems like kind of an asshole tbh

The team composition is bad.  Too many iso players, not enough bigs, the wrong kind of bigs, and as much as I hate Draymond as a person, he's the only one with any sort of international play skillset.  It was nuts to see him as the playmaker.  And the stars on our team are used to the constant bailout fouls the NBA gives them.

And I never ever thought I'd say this, but it's possible in my lifetime that the NBA will no longer be the premier league in the world.  At this point, the Euros could form a league that would possibly better than ours.

I can't imagine why somebody who is into competitive gluttony would be an a-hole.

No, the league will be fine, but the rosters are more and more international as time goes on. I'd like them to go USA vs The World in the All-Star game.

Dude, we can't even beat Nigeria

Don't get too cocky, English criminals. They're sobering up. NBA hasn't been testing for weed all season, but the Olympics are.

But just think of the draft picks we'll get for the next Olympics!

It was the 1st basketball I've watched since the Sonics left Seattle. what a shiat game for the US. Australia ran circles around the US all game.

Have the nba players become bored with this stuff or is the rest of the world gotten that much better?

Mostly the latter.

Australia beat USA, either Milwaukee or Phoenix will be the NBA champions, basketball seems to be headed in the wrong direction in the US.

This.

Though it's possible that as the rest of the world has caught up, the drive by the US players to dominate exhibitiongames has also waned.

In twenty years we won't be doing these quasi-fascist nationalistic competitions anyway.

I think they'll get better.  Still getting used to playing together and will play harder on defense in the actual Olympics.  I think Pop is trying different things and asking players to work on their teamwork / system vs. balling out.  Doesn't seem like Lillard has a green light for his long threes, for example.

Yeah and the MLS will soon be better than the EPL, lol wow.

Yeah, LA isn't in it, so the NBA sucks now.

Wouldn't Milwaukee or Phoenix winning be a huge step in the right direction for basketball in the US?
