He blasted one ball to right center that completely cleared the outfield bleachers and landed in the concourse. That ball landed in a spot that no one had ever seen a ball reach in the Astrodome, but then he topped that feat.

It has been a while but if memory serves...

It last game *ever* in the Dome.  We were playing the Braves.  Earlier in the week, my wife was listening to the radio driving while home and heard the Astros had just made the playoffs and they had tickets - *only* at the Dome ticket-location and she was 10 minutes away. We got seats in right field.

Anyway, I one point, I was going to the can and grabbing a couple of beers at the nearest concession and one of our players cracked one and the fans went nuts.  That ball rocketed onto the concourse almost exactly where described in the article and hit the floor, then wall less than 10 feet from me, then the ceiling, then bounced back into the crowd.

Also, I know I've seen one hit a speaker more than once.  During practice they would hit pop-ups that would make it to the rafters.

I was there. It was hard to track the ball in the Astrodome once it got airborne, so you reflexively waited for someone to catch it as it came down. That ball never did. It was more confusing than awesome because that had never happened before. Eventually, the enormity of the feat began to make sense and everyone just pointed at the speaker trying to process what they just witnessed.
