Those seem like rather sweeping lessons to glean from a sporting event.

austerity101: Those seem like rather sweeping lessons to glean from a sporting event.

In the end, I'm happy the message I took away was don't go all in on just social media.

I was generally only able to catch the second half of the 9pm kick offs because I was putting my kid to bed. I watched it on TV. My younger friends watched it from the beer gardens. I have fond memories of watching previous euros from the beer gardens, but I am an old now. So there is something about generational data the author goes on about.

The best takeaway from that article is thus:

Social platforms are basically a bunch of people commenting on what they see and read in other media. What happens on social media tends to stay on social media.

Although news agencies like to post tweets as news, for the most part social media has no self-contained ethos. It just exists to feed off of and amplify other media. But it is not particularly useful media itself (I mean, it can be ie: people livestreaming from war zones n such, but the vast majority of it is not used that way).

I'm too distracted by how far off the two shades of blue are and how it has they key on their twice.
