That was an interesting game; went from a sure Scherzer win to almost taking a loss and winding up with no decision.

How many pitchers have hit even one grand slam in their entire career?

FTFL: It was a National League hurler, Bill Duggleby of the Phils, who was the only player ever to hit a bases loaded home run in his first at bat in the majors. This feat was accomplished on April 21, 1898.

Camarena's slam last night was the first of that kind since this Duggleby slam. 123 years between pitchers having a slam as their first hit.

I've heard good things about the Padres announcers. But I swear, every single booth I listen to (other than the Mets) sounds like a mix between surfer dudes and grunting rednecks. All of them. I can hear the visors from here.

I try very hard to not be the old man in the room, but that chain the Padres are using is all kinds of stupid. Very cool story, though.

Those guys can't hold a candle to Dick Enberg.  I get the same cringe hearing Duane on the SF Giants games.

Too bad a certain Milwaukee Brewers radio announcer is not able to do his thing anymore. He was able to do play-by-play *and* color commentary solo.

And people like the Giants booth, too!

Should they all leave the dugout and pretend like the whole team just went to chill in the clubhouse mid inning?
