The main issue is that they would have to go with Liberal ways of thinking: More alternative energy, etc. And some honestly believe that just praying will fix this.

Incredibly stupid man falling off cliff thinks gravity is bullshiat.

I tend to agree: Climate change is a problem that cannot be addressed by deregulation and lassiez-faire capitalism. For people who have held as an article of faith that competent government doing central planning and international coordination is bad and never the solution to anything, it's easier to deny the problem exists.

Ron Johnson is full of bullshiat.

What are we doing here? Well, we're killing ourselves," said Johnson, adding, "it's a self-inflicted wound."

So why aren't you dead yet?

Read a little of the wiki on this Lord Monckton... he sounds like a level 99 grifter wizard.

Fark you, Wisconsin.  Don't ever elect a chucklehead like this again.

Healthcare should be denied for people who deny science. You shouldn't get the right to pick and choose. Deny evolution? Fine. No medicines for you. Deny vaccines? Fine. You pay for your vent when you get sick.

I'm sick of subsidizing stupidity.

They're already praying for rain.

I wonder how far they'll take this before they try to just walk back into the bushes and pretend they weren't a part of climate change denialism.

"Parts of the planet are too hot for people to live there now, huh that's farked up how did that happen??"

"Didn't you say this wouldn't happen?"

and then they vibrate through a wall to avoid answering difficult questions, after taking one last fist full of money.

Having seen Wisconsin go from Gaylord Nelson to Ron Johnson does make me wonder if there's something in the water or if those years of Wisconsin having the drunkest cities in America has had an impact.

I don't, I don't recall an issue where the first solution isn't always more money," said Johnson. "More money. More money. More money and, of course, you follow the money and the money produces control."

this should just be played on repeat along with an amendment removing funding for his state for everything from every bill forever until hes out of office

Hey Ron you are a Senator in of blue state up for re-election next year, not a Representative of a gerrymandered farming district. You might want to think your cunning plan through. Though in my opinion, you should keep on doing what you do.

South Texas has been unusually cool and rainy this year.  Wouldn't it be strange if climate change made Wisconsin a desert, plagued by frequent tornadoes?

We're at best purple, and Ron's been left for dead by his own party in both elections but by virtue of running in terrible years to be a Democrat (2010 and 2016) he's managed to win. My sincere hope is he's spouting BS because he's not running and is in full DGAF mode.  Also helps keep the heat and target off whoever else might run but at this point it wouldn't surprise me if this was just him being a a-hole and pandering.

There should be two tiers of insurance available. One for folks who accept what is happening and one for the holdouts, that way they won't have to break their delusion and live what they claim to believe.

The stupidest part is that there is so much data now available that it is impossible to create a climate model saying it is natural. Seriously check it out. There is no alternate model in existence anymore that can cone close to describing the current climate even including natural factors we know are not happening now.

He's done the Jesse Ventura thing.  Gone off the crazy train.  fully embraced re-publican stupid.  There's no hope for him or Robin Vos.  Both are backwater hicks who've taken WAY too many drugs, and watched Alex Jones for FAR too long.

I have an idea that will almost certainly never work, but would still be a great idea.

If a politician, an actual sitting politician, does a speech where they say something that is not only incorrect, but purposely untruthful, easily verifiably incorrect, and dangerous misinformation - like for instance, saying that climate change is bullshiat, when the science has been over it time and time again, and determined with 100% accuracy, that it is all true - they should be censured.  They should also be fined.  And if they do it a second time, 2x the fine.  And if they do it a 3rd time, they are expelled from office.

We need to stop allowing this kind of misinformation to be spread BY OUR LEADERS, simply because it's politically convenient for them.

Now...  I already know that this is impossible to enact.  Because a clean 2/3 of the politician rely on being able to spread misinformation...  They aren't going to stifle themselves.

Which is just another glaring problem with our government.
