Better than disabling the print spooler, breaking printing, is below. Denies 'System' access to \Windows\System32\Spool\Drivers - can print, can't install new ones until you reverse it after a fix.

I'm unconcerned about the ability to print atm, so thanks but I went with the easy way because right now I don't care.  If the need to print comes up, I'll go that route.

Or, if it's your home computer and you aren't sharing your printer, just disable client connections to the spooler services:

Start
Edit Group Policy
Computer Configuration | Administrative Templates | Printers
Set "Allow Print Spooler to accept Client Connections" to "disabled"
