A very good time to invest in everything CRISPR related, to state the obvious.

Catlenfell: By the end of the decade, the upper 10% will have designer babies.

Do you have any idea what its like living a miserable existence?

I do because its who I am

And its all caused by my genes

So when folks like you trot out these fear-mongering statements I get kinda pissed off because you are working against me.

I'm starting CRISPRCOIN this weekend.  It's a blockchain backed up by human DNA.  I have a jar of it over here somewhere....

Affectionately known as Crusty Sock Coin or CSC to it's adherents.

Maybe it's because you spend too much time here?

a "major advance in the gene editing space"

"Space" meaning "business of soaking the consumers".

With Diabetes myself, and diabetes all over my family, including all the cancers, brain/lung/bone/throat/prostate/colon, along with PCOS on the wifes side, I am looking forward to this CRISPR stuff. I'll be championing it and getting inline once all the seriously ill folks are taken care of.

It's going to be exciting times.

CRISPR is going to allow people to live a very, very long time.

The drawback is memory issues when "turning back the clock" on age.

No effin way. They'll be all over this like a Linux user on bash.

They'll be touting its benefits and getting in line possibly even saying things like "well, I think the healthy people should be first as we have superior genes and we should be the ones to live longer"

I'm not looking forward to the possible social upheaval this will cause, such as rich folks getting it first etc

I cannot wait to see the realization of designer babies - partly out of interest in the practical scope of genetic engineering, but also because the greater its power the more likely it is to be another hilarious lesson on the poor decision making skills of humans.

As someone who lives with a genetic illness, I say GFY and stop your fear mongering

That would be absolutely brilliant. I would love to see science create the technology to vastly extend life only for the anti-vaxxers to refuse to take it because derp. Then the rest of us could sit back and watch them all slowly die.

Many already refuse to take the vaccine because they think it changes their DNA
