Nope. Both Hammett and Chandler are rooted in logic.

The q bullshiat strays far from anything approaching logic or any kind of rational worldview.

"As I was walking along the cold street in DC, I saw horrors too frightening for my children's eyes to see. A woman with a headscarf walking past me, a black woman and a white man holding hands and looking at each other with such... ugh, a Mexican man walking on the sidewalk past a policeman who doesn't haul him off back where he came, a Jew existing, and worst of all, they look so... happy."

I'm hesitant to be too angry about the  1/6 protestors. Democracy survives because of people being angry and having the voice and ability to action to cause problems.

People SHOULD be able to have violent protest against the government. The counter to this is that the government needs to recognize that something is unbalanced in society and needs to be corrected.

Stupid white people are angry. Theres allot of talk about how it's all tied to racism. I think that is a false flag. Its economic disparity. It's not about white people. It's about poor people. It's about feeling like you have upward ability in the community. And that's gone. Race has much less to do with the problems in the usa. The problem stems fro a tiny group of people using impoverished people to maintain their dominance in society. And for that, I forgive them.

They are communist bastards. They just dont know it. They are facists. Because they cant yet see the lies they are being fed. They have anger in their hearts about injustice. And you should too. They are misguided, but their purpose is closer to the ones they decry rather than the ones they keep biatching about.

Except that the insurrectionist rioters from the 6th weren't the poor for the most part. They are the deluded and hateful who have been told repeatedly that the poor, the immigrants, and the non-white are a threat and who have latched on to that bullshiat and spun it out of control into hating the idea of having anyone who believes differently in any position of authority over their lives. They may have been trying to defend their principles, but they are massively farked up principles.

In my experience the poor rarely fly to protests in private jets...

With all due respect, both TFA and your post are just bullshiat whitewashing.

The insurrectionists were not, by and large, poor people who had been trampled under the foot of rampant corporatocracy. They were in fact the beneficiaries of all the privelege this country has to offer for generations of inherited wealty and white privelege.

They're not struggling against the oppressor for the means and the right to live comfortably; they are the oppressor and are struggling against any suggestion that maybe it's time to rethink the white male gravy train. It is absolutely about racism. It's about maintaining systems of inequality that have advantaged them.

I don't know enough about Chandler's personal life to judge him, but Dashiell Hammett was a total asshole who would have actually fit in quite well with the QAnon crowd, so I think the comparison is quite appropriate.

Not only that, but the insurrectionists weren't just the people trying to battle their way into the Capitol.  They were reps, senators, and the farkin' POTUS.  This was an action undertaken by some of the most powerful people in the country.  They simply sent their willing foot soldiers to do their dirty work.

Racism is a symptom.  I give the white folk who burn buildings and storm government institutions no more leeway than the black who rioted in Kenosha.  Less, actually, because the whites actually TRIED TO OVERTHROW A DULY ELECTED GOVERNMENT.

I get that they're angry, and believe it or not, I get WHY they're angry.  But it doesn't excuse the behavior, any more than being poor excuses mugging someone.

And they most likely pronounce it "norr."
Noir protagonists are individualists who incur opprobrium by adhering to their sense of what is right and fair: so not the Q-biatch mob.

There is only one Q. If anyone says there is another, they have mental issues. Just like the terrorist group that named themselves after a pretend spy agency. Mental issues.

Interesting fun fact, back in the day I read that Q was the only letter in the alphabet that wasn't a name. (Read it in Guinness book of world records for shortest name or something, I have no citation) Makes me wonder if that is why trek named the Q

It is a definitive example of the genre. Personville-Poisonville, as it's colloquially known in Red Harvest-has cynicism, violence, and inequality to spare, in much the same style that later Los Angeles noirs would use. Hammett's vision has one man capable of setting things right through violence-and violently pits Americans against each other while wealthy capitalists sit back and watch.

Seems spot on really
