Knowing that the smells that accompany many foods, that place is gonna have a vapor trail following it after a few months.

Smells don't dissipate in spaaaaace!

OMFG I loved those things as a kid. Weirdly only a relative that was a professor would get them for me. No one else had them so they were a rare treat.

/ Since it was the 1970s it was probably made out of gelatin and marshmallows.

Sichuan pepper sauce to help adjust to the temporary loss of sense of taste experienced in microgravity.

That's interesting, as szechuan pepper is a great way to create a temporary loss of sense of taste here on earth.

Sense of simultaneous numbing and burning, however, are enhanced.

Also a good black pepper beef is all they need up there. Endless black pepper beef. I wouldn't need any other meal (as long as it's a good one, there are some AWFUL versions of black pepper beef). I wouldn't even need the rice, just more beef.

Pickled cabbage.

In a metal tube full of recirculated air.

Good luck with that.

used to frequent this diner in cape cod... https://persysplace.com/

their list is still pretty stupidly-ginormous, but back in the before-times it used to be at least 3x larger. wish I'd stolen a menu, the thing was 5 or 6 legal-size pages, front and back, small print.

I ate a lot of those. Imagine a slightly softer version of Tootsie Rolls, except that they didn't stay chewy in your mouth but dissolved like fudge. Chocolate was OK but the Peanut Butter ones were the best. Sometimes even tried the Orange ones to break the monotony.
