If the long rumored to be destroyed Mike Millard master recording of Listen to This, Eddie actually ended up existing, then surely somebody hit record that day, and it's sitting in Jimmy Page's vault somewhere.

All those satanic rock groups jam together after they sacrifice babies.  It's what they do.

Bonham could have gotten along very well in Sabbath, but I would guess Tony would complain about how loud he was.  JPJ would have been handy for some arrangements or keyboard work (no disrespect to Rick Wakeman).

Still. Two of my favorites.

Sabbath started out as a pretty standard blues rock band called Earth.  They could have easily meshed with early Zeppelin material.   Something like "Dazed and Confused" would have been amazing with both Tony and Jimmy on guitar.

I was saying that his master tapes were discovered, but I was in a rush writing that and realized it probably sounded weird.

Oh totally, although I feel like I'm weird for liking Volume IV more than Master of Reality and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.

I like them all for what they are. Each one a gem in it's own way.

I should listen to them again, cause it's been years.

Volume IV rocks. And it has tunes on it like Wheels of Confusion which has never been played on the radio, as far as I know. The rock stations in my town have only played Iron Man, War Pigs, and Paranoid and I'm frankly tired of hearing the same farkin song every time they want to put Sabbath in rotation. Why can't Iron Maiden ever be played without it being Run to the Goddam Hills?

Sirius has Ozzy for the figurehead for one of their metal stations but I swear they're on order to play no more than one Sabbath/Ozzy track every 90 minutes.  Not that I don't mind some Manowar/Rainbow/Maiden but bring that ratio up a bit people.  And for the love of all things holy December 3rd should be all forms of Ozzy all day.

Agreed on both counts. Or, at least it was true when I still listened to radio.

For me, Volume IV is when Sabbath was near to attaining their peak and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is just downslope of after they had. This puts both albums on equal footing to me.

Sabotage was ok but the fact that it is so damn tinny hurts it a great deal.Technical Ecstasy was...well...it had Dirty Women on it at least.

Everything after that until 13 was and is easily forgettable. Dio's singing style just wasn't my cup of tea and so Black Sabbath featuring Ronnie James Dio wasn't Sabbath in my world.

Yeah I'm still to poor to get Sat-radio. I'll just buy the albums and put them on loop for the next 2 years. Doesn't fit so well with Tool and Korn so gonna have to have a seperate playlist.
