I'm kind of curious.  If you buy this thing, do you have to pay property taxes? Do you have rights to build on the rectangle that is the parking spot?  Or is it just $120,000 for the rights to park in your private parking spot?
Do I get someone I can call if someone parks in my super cool parking spot?

So many questions.

/I'd might buy it and fully embrace the "Van down by the river" lifestyle.

Just answered my own question.  Property taxes are $262 in 2021, and there is a $220 monthly HOA fee.

So fir $120,000 in cash you get a parking spot that you also pay $241 in monthly fees for.

WTAF.

You can get charged a HOA fee for something that isn't a house?!

Upon examining further, the HOA is $220 annually.  +$261 in annual property taxes,

so you're paying 120k +~$40/month .in HOA fees and property taxes

Still steep, but not completely insane.

Then again it's in an HOA, so they almost definitely aren't going to let you actually live in your expensive parking spot that you own the deed for.

Are you not familiar with HOAs?  They'll fine you if you plant the wrong color flowers.  That's why when I move into an HOA area, I install a DirecTV dish on my front door.  Nothing they can do about it.

That was about the going rate for a spot in the parking garage of our apartment building in Hong Kong. Renting was a little under 600 USD/mo.

Having a parking spot that's a leisurely stroll from the middle of Commercial Street would be a pretty big deal. If you have a place out there, it would absolutely be worth your while. (And if you rent during the summer to pay for the rest of your year, people will pay a lot extra for the convenience of that space.)

But then you'd have a car in Provincetown.

Unfortunately, having a parking spot in a convenient place tends to mean that a crap ton of other people find it convenient as well, and you continually have to deal with others (illegally?) parking there.

Just because it's legally yours doesn't mean that it will be available for your use whenever you want/need it.

No but it does mean that you are free to install remote-activated, subterranean pneumatic spike strips

If you lived in P-town you could boot cars illegally parked there and make them pay $500 to take it off.
People shouldn't be that shocked.  It's a big tourist destination, it's surrounded on three sides by the ocean, and has a kick ass public library.

And meanwhile you still can't park there yourself.

And being a tourist destination just means you have a never-ending flow of different people who just "didn't know"
