good for them (and I'm certainly not sorry it's over the Brewers). that must have been agonizing. unfortunately it probably will be again.

Still have an insane road losing streak going, no?

Also measuring by the "wild card era" is dumb for regular season stats

They're 9.5 games behind 4th place Colorado, who would be a decent team if they could win on the road.

Was at the game with Nadie_AZ  (huge Brewers fan).  saw a couple of cool things;

1)  saw the umps check the Brewers and a Dbacks pitcher for "sticky substance".  after the 4th or 5th inning, the 3B ump was jogging towards the brewers dugout (1B side), and the home plate ump was walking towards the pitcher.  I was like, "why is the 3B ump going to the Brewers' dugout?  Did someone yell something that pissed him off? if so, shouldn't home plate be doing the policing?"  then, 3B ump and home plate stop the pitcher, on the baseline, and ask for his glove and hat.  they did a few swipes, and gave him stuff back.  same thing with the Snakes a few innings later;  3B and home plate grabbed the pitcher on his way to the dugout, checked his gear, let him go.

2)  I GAVE UP A FOUL BALL.  ball hit the section above us, took a bounce down to the 200 level, and there weree so many empty seats (attendance was about 9,000), the ball landed about 20' away and 4-5 rows above us, then bounced right towards us.  the lady directly behind it bobbled it, the ball fell three empty seats away from me, I saw it, went to grab it, and saw the hand of this 11-12yr old I noticed earlier, reaching for it....decided i didn't want to break the kid's heart.  i let it go.  i let it go, man!!!

He totally have up that foul ball.

All I wanted was the penguin to swipe the ball from the kid and make TMZ 2 days in a row.

Good times! Bad outcome tho.
