When it gets too hot I stop eating meals and start grazing throughout the day on cold snacks, maybe a chicken salad sandwich or Caesar salad if I'm hungry enough.

common sense is an oxymoron: When it gets too hot I stop eating meals and start grazing throughout the day on cold snacks, maybe a chicken salad sandwich or Caesar salad if I'm hungry enough.

There's a menu idea for the week, t/y

The best chicken salads use DARK meat.

Bagel veggie sandwiches - usually cream cheese (I like the chives one), lettuce, thinly-sliced tomato, red onion, cheese, everything bagel, but sometimes I throw in some basil or avocado

Spinach salad with peaches and avocados, with red onion, toasted almonds, goat cheese, and a vinegarette of your choice

Had that for dessert last night. Except instead of cream, I used evaporated milk; my grandmother's go-to.
Especially for pumpkin pie. :)

Fruit salad.

Apples, pears, peaches, strawberries, bananas, blueberries, kiwi, mandarins, pineapple, green grapes. Tossed with a mixture of honey and lime juice.

Lemonade in an ice cube tray.

Put the frozen cubes in a glass and pour iced tea over 'em.

Chef salad?
Chicken salad?
Charcuterie plate (3 meats, 3 cheeses, 3 veggies, some nuts, pickles, olives...)?

Potato salad. I could live off that.

Make a couple pots of coffee the night before and put it in a gallon jug in the fridge overnight...fill a tall glass with ice cubes and fill 3/4 with coffee, 1/4 with milk (or cream) and a teaspoon of sugar. Stir.

Still too early but in a month ago my 90 degree hell no go to is cutting a tomato we just picked in the garden in half, a drizzle of olive oil, and a small piece of basil, a dash of black pepper.  Happiness.  My wife adds parmesan and salt to hers but for me knowing everything but the olive oil and pepper are from our garden makes me happier.

The locally-owned grocery store near me has a very tasty turkey/cranberry/celery salad in their deli that is my go-to on hot summer nights when I don't feel like cooking.  Grab a box of Nut Thins, pile a bunch of salad on crackers, crack open something cold, and I'm happy.

On a hot day, I like a cold beer and a cracker with a thin layer of Vegemite. I realize this i not for everyone.

Alternative plan, a nice, cold, pasta salad.

Pasta salad!! It's a great hot weather meal. Plus you can customize it with any food you like.

Frozen pre-cooked shrimp. Defrost in a colander under some cold water and serve with cocktail or barbecue sauce.

Basmati rice with yogurt, mustard seeds, black lentils, green chiles, and curry leaves. It's made to be eaten hot, but I love it cold. I could happily live on it all summer.

When it is actually too hot to eat?

A big bowl of cold watermelon.

It is very rarely too hot for me to comfortably eat warm food. And I say this as a guy with no AC.
