Well shiat.

I guess this is how the suicide cult is going to play out.

I know, the suspect didn't kill themself. You don't expect them to be good at it, do you?

This one is looking like an accident - a horrible accident.  The driver of the truck was part of the parade and is a member of the Fort Lauderdale Gay Men's Chorus, as were the victims.  He looked absolutely horrified when they were putting him in the police car and just kept staring at where rescue people were working on the two victims.

But those gays were... Uh... Rioting! Yeah, that's it. They were rioting. So the law allows the driver to run over whoever they want for their personal safety.

I'm surprised it took this long for the story to green; this would've been a 300 comment outragefest if it came out last night and had a bunch of twitter screen grabs in the first couple posts.

There's still only going to be 1 or 2 people that actually read the story, so there are definitely going to be plenty of ill-informed outrage posts.

It's funny what waiting and getting facts before green lighting a story does.

dead is still dead.  I don't imagine the family of the deceased, care about the suspect M.O.  They gave no farks.  Moments after this broke last night, there seemed to be a race to blame a maga hat wearin/ Wasserman hater driving the Trump bus.  Until a few more more people read the end of the article.

Okay, in my defense, the article took the lawyer-friendly approach to not giving any information, and I had to check the comments to this thread to learn it might've been an accident.

The ignorance around here wasn't just due to people here wishing this was some red neck who did this, there is a deep misunderstanding of the law with respect to what you can do with your vehicle. It is civil immunity for one, and would not even be applicable to a parade.

While it's not at all clear what happened  here, I must say that the news events of the last 72 hours don't support the contention that passing laws making it permissible to run over protestors is a good idea.

Yeah, sad situation all around.  :(

As for the ticker - I see my cardiologist on Thursday.  Already have the results of the heart monitor because the hospital system around here automatically uploads the results of all tests to our accounts as soon as they are in.  We get them before the doctors do at some points.  However, I have no idea what I'm looking at.  All I know it is says my heart rate would drop into the low 40s at times and go all the way up to 170s at others and that there were irregular beats but apparently not a huge amount during the week I had it on?   Her office called and cut one of my medications in half dosage wise though.  Thank you for asking.

Using the power of stereotyping, I assumed parade participant non-alcohol DUI as most likely, followed by parade participant, non DUI and just a tragic accident.

Targeted attack by white conservative was at the same odds as muslim fundie, but was at the 6/7 position after a series of other general accidents.

We'll see what details make it out, and if there's a follow-up

A lot of Farkers have a lot of erroneous misconceptions.
A lot of them seem to think that mocking someone and making them look stupid makes one look smarter - when in reality, it only makes one look smaller, pettier, and even stupider than the person one in mocking.
I note that, in actual reality, only two or three posters actually seem to have made any false assumptions about this story, and that some other people are talking that up like a much bigger thing than it is - to make themselves look smart.
They don't.
They look as dumb as dogshiat.
