Agreed. I think that list is rather odd. Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here didn't make it? Fleetwood Mac Rumors doesn't even see a mention?

Funny thing is though I own every album on it.

This album cover freaked me out as a kid in the 70s.  Those vacuous, almost lifelike eyes, that uncomprehending, almost surprised expression, almost like that of a child who doesn't understand that he's just killed his goldfish by picking it out of its tank and playing with it and can't wrap his head around the concept of death.

Oh damn. Loved that one and the music on it kicked some ass. Nothing made it mainstream radio since it was not pop and not meant for laid back FM rock in the early 70's.

About half are a b&w profile picture ... whee, high concept art there I tell ya.

Most any Yes album from the 70s should make the list
On a near tangent, Asia's early 80s album art was good.

BOC
Kansas
Tull
All had good cover art back in the day

How did I forget the Gabriel era Genesis?

Iron Maiden
Judas Priest
Most any other metal band's covers

Etc

Wanebo: Agreed. I think that list is rather odd.

I think it's a typical listicle, like "10 best cities for food trucks."  Really it's just a cross between "10 things the author can think of before the deadline" and "10 things the author wants to brag about knowing."  There's not going to be any science to this---indeed, pissing you off with an awful list is part of the clickbait.

Tough to choose one, but this is pretty cool because a) it features Peter Green and John McVie before Fleetwood Mac and Aynsley Dunbar before Zappa/Jeff Beck/Whitesnake/Lou Reed/Bowie/etc. and b) Mayall painted it himself:

Also, and I only know this because of Fark, this thread needs more Phil Hartman.
