Was your "significant amount of research" done during the after effects of a badly timed Taco Bell and malt liquor indulgence?

It's unfortunate that someone will use this as a reason not to get vaccinated and they'll get sick and/or die.

Well they'll use it as an excuse certainly.

Is he even the 2nd greatest Jazz player of all time?

Came here to say this.  I'll put Pete Maravich, Adrian Dantley, and Karl Malone ahead of him - all of whom had double the PPG.  Stockton gets a nod for assists.

Karl Malone was way better.  Karl Malone don't want to hear about John Stockton being better than Karl Malone.  Karl Malone ain't got time for that.  Karl Malone knows that you are reading this in Karl Malone's voice.

Retired and still trying to hurt people.

It becomes clearer, why he and Malone had such incredible chemistry.

Loved having Dantley on the Pistons during the couple years he was there.  His fadeaway never made any sense.  It was SO slow and yet nobody could stop it.  It also looked like he jumped sideways a little on it.

I don't know how Karl Malone feels about vaccines but I know he's a diehard Republican and I'm guessing was a Trumper although not sure on that.

"One of the things that sticks in my head is losing someone like Steph Curry to basketball would be a crime," Stockton said. "I just think what a disappointment to this world it would be if that guy didn't become who he is. So I wonder who we are missing out on right now."

quotes like this make me want to ban all youth sports. it's just not important to the world.

If someone asked me to name some of the greatest basketball players to ever lace up the Chuck Taylors, John Stockton's name wouldn't be the 20th on the list, much less the second. He wasn't even the best player on the Utah Jazz.

Obviously Stockton's point is completely devoid of any and all logic, but my favorite is the fact that the world would never know what kids didn't turn into superstar athletes even if there wasn't a pandemic.

Yea Stockton gets a nod for assists.. all time . Also most steals ... all time. Ridiculous assist to turnover ratio. Excellent FG% for 6 ft white guy. Ridiculous. Also missed 20 games in 20 years.  16 in one season. 4 games in 19 years aside from that. No load management for the 80s/90s Jazz!

Maybe Maravich... if he had played longer, and when there was a 3-point shot. Kinda sucks that the New Orleans Jazz went all-in on the "trade everything for the locally popular star out of LSU" strategy and never bothered to surround him with capable teammates. What could have been...

I know Dantley is one of the more criminally forgotten stars the NBA has seen, but I wouldn't call him a better or more impactful player than Stockton. He was also rumored to be one of those "locker room issue" guys, at least until he joined a more mature Pistons team that put him in his place.

So I'll go ahead and call Stockton the second best player in Jazz history. Doesn't mean he's not a moron.

He's super Catholic, too. Wonder if that has anything to do with it.

And he's always been my favourite NBA player. Hearing this sucks.

I used to run into him, wife, kids, at an art supply place. Who was there was depending on the day. Seemed normal, doing arts and crafts with the fam, understanding the playbook well enough to improvise, doing good stuff for the community. Down to earth even while being a superstar.

I guess even normal people can be stark, raving mad. Maybe all he wanted to be was normal.

At this point I can only feel sadness seeing people I thought were grown-ups showing that their brain is smaller than their prostate

At this point, now that I'm fully vaccinated, I hope idiots like this get other like-minded idiots to not get vaccinated. I hope they all don't wear seat belts. I hope they all take up smoking. Let them all die - the rest of society is tired of carrying these pathetic losers, even the ones who play a kids game for a career.

I'll be honest, the last 5 years has taught me that the number of intentionallyignorant people, willing to hurt themselves in order to spite someone else, is far greater than I feared.

Between the outcome of elections since I started paying attention, and the occasional conversation with some of the common clay of the new West, I'm aware that the country is what it is, and have been for a while. The only thing that caught me by surprise was how just how many of my acquaintances ended up making their narcissism obvious by their highly negative reaction to the COVID restrictions. But we're commenting on a story about a guy who was an NBA player. Don't expect too much of professional jocks. To be so good at some form of sports ball that you got seriously paid, typically requires an extremely narrow focus. If my question doesn't have to do with executing a half court offense, or setting up a fast break, I'm not asking John Stockton a gawddam thing.

Stockton, 59, is a 10-time NBA All-Star, Hall of Famer and the league's all-time assist leader.

and now he's on an ever growing list of assholes that aren't content with just farking themselves, but instead choose to spread shiat everywhere

Much harder to take the Utah out of the idiot.
