With helpful pic of what a Very Good Boi looks like.  Give that dog a strip loin.

Yeah, Goldens are great dogs, but if a little Doodle is necessary to great a healthy individual?  I'm all for it.

Note: every dog I've ever owned has been mixed breed.

My dog would try and save it so she could herd it.  She herded 3 terrified little stray kittens into a group in the middle of a parking lot once, excitedly circling and wagging.  They were apparently momma cat-less, extremely thin, thirsty and it was over 100F, so I ended up having to feed/water them and take them to a rescue.  Sasha semiadopted them immediately and was upset my allergy meant they left or my ability to breathe did.

Is Sasha a border collie or corgi? I heard corgi will try to herd kids.

All the herding dogs will herd kids.  It's what they do. Mine (Aussies) herded a bunny the other day.  Poor bunny didn't know what was going on.

When I've gone to the Highland Games, the place is too small for sheep, so the dogs herd geese instead.  Fun to watch the furry fellows strategize in order to 'protect' the feathered ones.

Half Aussie shepherd and half German shepherd, apparently.  Looks like a border-collie sized GSD with a short tail.
When I first got her I had to grab her once to stop a corgi trying to herd her off the edge of a cliff.

My college roommate had a blue heeler that would herd every visitor to the house into the kitchen without them even realizing it. Sometimes large groups of people.

Mastiff mix I used to have really enjoyed wrestling and playing with my mom's rabbit when we went to visit. It's definitely almost as much fun to watch a 120 pound dog and a 4 pound rabbit play as it must have been for them.

It's fun.  They let the geese out of a pen, and then it's the dog's job to get them all back in again.  Fun to watch the doggie plot his moves because the geese will get back out, so he's got to be careful.

Considering that geese can be way more aggressive and ornery than sheep, that could get interesting.

My border collie-husky-??? perpetually tries to herd our scardeycat Brittany. She's my user pic.

Fwiw: Brittany is a rescuer from a lineage of show winners but he has moles and an odd gait, so he was lived on a crate most of his life, aside from potty time. He's 10. We got him 2 years ago free on Craigslist.

I've heard of this - also that when the dogs are first taught geese, they sometimes have problems thinking they are the ultimate "setup" for a correction.
