He bet not! It's cool he loves to go on adventures but we have Star Wars series to be made! Obi Wan does not need to end up a permanent marker on the mountain. Trek to base camp maybe, but he better turn himself around. Hoth is a warning to us all!!!!!

I hope this movie does not make more idiots want to leave bags of shiat and air bottles all over the mountain so they can brag about it on farking Facebook.

More attention for the mountain encouraging idiots who are not trained well enough to pay a Sherpa to haul their gear up just so the novice climber can risk other people's lives as they cause massive traffic jams before ultimately adding their bright colored corpse to litter the mountain. Great

Knew a girl who was dead set on getting to the summit. She was air lifted off of base and shamefully flew home with a very deflated ego.

I loathe current Everest climbers. Pompous pathetic wealthy cosplayers who wouldn't have a chance in hell of making it without a team of superhero sherpas doing all of the work for them.

But Mallory and Irvine really did put effort in. And it is an interesting tragic story. Maybe this could be interesting as a movie.

Keeps the Sherpas employed, though.  Because it's either that, or farming in one of the worst areas to farm in the world.

Everest should be pronounced "Eve Wrist" not Ever Rist".

Sherpa typically don't farm (used to, but not since climbing became a thing).  Different clans - Rai or Shakya do the bulk of the farming.  Sherpa are the mountaineering clan.

While some of the current climbers are just what you describe, most are dedicated and committed to a lifelong goal. Your generalization is unfair but I get it. It's fark.

This sounds like an interesting movie. The Mallory and Irvine expedition utterly fascinates me.

I'd also like to see a (non supernatural) movie about the Franklin expedition.

And the Gurung, Kumaoni, and Garhwali are typically the Gurkha. A 25 year stint in the British Army can provide for a good retirement as well as university education for the sons. The wives and daughters do the farming (and in the Gurung clan (maybe others), the land is inherited by the youngest daughter so the entire family can have a livelihood).

I don't mean any disrespect to you. But I personally have not seen or read of a single climber that could have climbed Everest on their own merits (assuming that they would be legally allowed to do so). If their goal is to see the view from Everest for themselves or to take in an experience that's one thing. But the moment they act like THEY accomplished anything I lose all respect for them. They paid amazing people to do 99% of the work for them.

I was with you, but these last two sentences are stupid and contradictory.
