It is a good thing that the Internet wasn't around 500 years ago.

This afternoon's storm out in west MN went due south. (Iowa could use it too.)
Never seen the grass so crunchy. Almost three weeks now since any decent rain.

/We're only "Moderate drought" here...

Good thing we have science.  This drought is going to be BAD.  Hopefully New some passes regulations taking the water from the mountains, and mandates the rich people get to have green lawns.  Especially people who go to the French laundry.  It was an early dinner, so it is OK.  Pass emergency regulations so the rich can fill up water trucks at fire hydrants to water their lawns.  Think of the economic devastation of brown lawns of the rich.

Well I see the problem. D4 Exceptional Drought sounds like a good thing. Best drought ever. They need to take that out of the ranking.

We're in D1, likely to hit D2 and maybe even D3 if this continues here in Eastern Iowa.

It rained here for maybe 5 minutes this morning, but it wasn't enough to matter.
Watering the lawn is futile, it just goes back to brown within a day.

Temps to hit 95 to 100 with humidex values possibly at 105 today.

I need a cold beer already.

Back when there weren't a hundred million people relying on the water in the region shown?

Yah, I'll take one! Anything Toppling Goliath is stellar -- it just sucks that it's mostly 4 packs for everything, and so damn expensive.
