I love that each TV comic universe has a Wilson brother.

After the writing on the DC CW shows this year I'm convinced the entire writing staff was hired to support people with mental disabilities. I'm now afraid to have any hope in CW tv.

I just think of it as extremely pretty people cosplaying superheroes with really good video effects and plots that were written by a four year old.

I'm OK with this, I hope. Hourman and Mid-Nite aren't that great. The show has done much better with the villains than heroes.

It's even the weird magic green lantern with the wood problem and not GL proper.

Which is cool to get more of it's story out there.

Also, isn't Alan Scott gay?

I guess it was the 40's so he had to beard it up with a daughter.

Oh sure, Green Lantern. But that's not who I'm really excited to see...

He's had kids in the comics for 40 years.

Never watched Stargirl, but in this trailer she looks and sounds very young.
How old is she supposed to be.
She looks to be an 8th grader, maybe a freshman in HS.

But DC's been fully rebooted so many times that characters can pretty much be anything / anyone, except for a core few.
Origins have merged and then separated.

Wonder woman has 3 or 4 origins.
Original Wonder Girl the same at least.
Hawkman and Girl / Woman even more.

Considering Alan Scott and his son Obsidian were featured in the DC Comics Pride special that came out last week, I'd say that I'm pretty sure about this one.

My point was it doesn't matter how he started out it's what he is today, including having children.

Oh, I've got zero problems with him coming out as gay as an adult. That happens all the time in real life.

StarGirl is an entertaining show, certainly more fun than the Flash anymore

Seconded, sadly. It's the first show of the Berlantiverse that's an actual, literal high school drama, but it isn't falling into the same pits that high school drama TV shows of the past have, and that's heartening.

Considering Giggle is supposed to show up on all the Arrowverse shows later this season, I'm wondering if it is a setup for another crisis which will basically end the remaining first generation Arrowverse shows next season.

I don't think John has ever giggled in his life.

But from your lips to Gods ears that all of the current Arrowverse shows end. The only one worth keeping was Black Lightning.
Well, I take that back, the new Superman and Lois so far is fantastic

Hell, about a year ago (bit longer probably) he died before even becoming Green Lantern.
Dr. Manhattan was messing with DC's timeline and altered his origin so the lantern was out of reach at the original moment of discovery. Which saved his life originally.

Glad to see that this is continuing. Only caught the first few episodes of season 1, but dug the concept and always liked the Wilson brothers. One of those weird comics for me that I always liked the characters but never actually read much of the comic. Learned the origins and story beats through comic book/shop osmosis.

That being said, I'd still prefer seeing Shade in a near scene-for-scene adaptation of Robinson's Starman. Then I can sell my Mikaal Tomas/Starman & Congorilla join Justice League Africa movie.

It has, so far, been very good at doing something that nearly every Superman show fails to do: Made superman sympathetic.

Doomsday Clock was a fantastic series. Haven't really read comics regularly in 5-6 years and recently got the DC service; Doomsday Clock was one of the first I binged through. Had my doubts reusing Watchmen characters but I really liked the idea of Dr. Manhattan experimenting on the timeline and it ultimately turned out to be a great Superman story.

I said in a previous thread that on last weeks episode, or maybe the week before, the big emotional scenes with Lois and Jon on the couch? I almost teared up it was so well done!

Barry cries every week on the Flash but the show is so bad with its weekly pep talks and false emotions, that I don't even take it seriously as a television show.

Superman and Lois is like a real show that happens to have Superman in it!

She's supposed to be about 16. The actress is 22 but for once they actually cast somebody who looks like a young teen.

I haven't watched any CW stuff in awhile, since before the crossover. I tried to get into Legends a couple times but, there were other things I wanted to watch. I will pick up Netflix against once Lucifer Season 6 gets released, so I may give it another shot if they are still there as well.

Is there a DC character from before the year 2000 that *hasn't* been retconned at least 3 times since 2000? Because the only thing DC can seem to do is retcon and re-launch a character every other year, just so they can avoid tripping over their own new back-stories when they introduce a new storyline.

Legends is worth a 2nd try as long as you can get through the 1st season.  After that, they just embraced the zaniness and got REALLY good.

So, this is classic Green Lantern, or more specifically The Green Lantern. His power is different. He is unable to affect things made of wood (so yeah, Green Arrow could possibly beat him in a fight with wooden arrows).

I'm still waiting for Stargirl's younger stepbrother to get his hands on that magic pen and gain control of the The Thunderbolt.

Legends may legitimately be their best show outside of streaming only, at which point Doom Patrol is waaaaaaaaaaaaay the best Berlantiverse show, and Harley Quinn is neck and neck with it for best DC show.

The daughter of the green lantern? I almost gave up on CW shows after Arrow season 2. It's been a down hill slog through a porcine slaughter house ever since. The writing has gotten actually worse.

This isn't CW. It's from the DC Universe streaming network.
