Not only is there more than one brood for the 17 year cicada's, but there's a 13 year variant as well.

this has nothing to do with cicadas or this disgusting article, but... blaze pizza's ghost pepper chicken meatball topping is the best thing ever. It's not hot enough to make me lose my sense of taste, but it's satisfying.

I can tolerate Cincinnati chili if I don't think of it as chili, but a weird Mediterranean stew instead.

Yep, but I will say Toasted Ravioli deserves a space next to mozzarella sticks in the Appetizer Hall of Fame. Though I have no idea why it's called "toasted" when it's deep-fried.

I used to have a dungeon master who loved Tommy's [hi Mike! How's Louisville?].  But he had his gallbladder taken out, so he was supposed to limit his fat intake.  So of course, he craved those chili burgers even more.

So on the afternoon before games, he call me.  "Dude, bring me some Tommy's!  Don't let Marie see it."  Same thing every week.

And every week I'd get the stink eye from Marie... because when your gallbladder is removed, you can't digest fats, so that chili comes out pretty much the same way it goes in.

But worse.

also the part where whatever actives are in that particular fungus, don't really affect humans at all (it was either a direct from foodtab link, or in the comments of one of our many cicada threads, but I CBA) - not like that's gonna stop some people, though.

years ago, a friend used to take me hiking around the sparse mini-forests on the campus of his old schoool (UMass Dartmouth? eh, I forget) - I ain't partake my-ownself, but I was happy to get the fresh air and exercise ...and help him gather Amanitas that were at the base of nearly every damn tree. ah, good times!

This is true, but only at the Clade level (just below Phylum, above Class), and only to the extent that any insect is related to any crustacean. Cicadas are much more closely related to bedbugs, with whom they share an Order.

It's not as bad as your SO referring to "habañeros" for years.

Her dad refers to Chipotle the restaurant as "Chipolti" but I don't mind that one since I don't particularly care for the place.
