Mrs. Henry watches the Waltons every day. Truth be told, it was a good show that dealt with some weighty issues - from an adult's perspective. They also showed several menfolk sneakin' off & gettin' stinko on moonshine.

Michael Learned was okay, but man, you couldn't beat Patricia Neal as the mother in the pilot (The Homecoming).  She had that tired-out look and that raspy drawl that was just perfect.

Is that growth on the side of his face a mole or birthmark?

Do you think it grows darker hair than the rest of his face?

It's a mole. I had a similar (but smaller) one growing up.

I had it removed as soon as I could. Children can be very cruel.

Dad plays a POS racist bigot crime figure in a 70's blaxploitation film. Harsh to see / hear.

I always remember him playing Hank Williams Jr - especially for the accident that convinced him to grow his beard to cover the scars.

I always thought the Waltons would be too wholesome and God-fearing like "Little house on the prairie" for me to really dig so I stayed away but about 12 years ago I worked a job that got me home when it was the only thing on TV and I was surprised how wrapped up in it I got.

I saw the end of a TV movie some years ago where he went postal because he was stalking Brooke Shields.  He was creepy as all get-out.

That''s true. I remember hearing that he was a very man. You know what else I know about him? He's the father of triplets. and that's all I know about him.
