I'm a big fan - oddly enough though Take on Me is probably my least favorite songs.  Cast in Steel off their 2015 album (of the same name) rocks  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcdfHel4ppw

"Say after me
It's no better to be safe than sorry"

Is one of the best lyrics ever written. Ironic that song is thought of as shallow, with that lyric in the middle.

Much better song than "Take On Me."

Hearing A-ha on the radio still makes me smile as if I was 13.
Favourite song is "Stay on these roads", and I'm smiling just typing this :-)

I have a brother who is convinced that "Take On Me" is sung by Daryl Hall.

If a Norwegian dude lives long enough, he will receive from the government one (1) fishing boat.

"Take on me" was a weird title since it was a direct translation to English of a Norwegian expression "Ta på meg" which is better translated to "touch me" or "grab onto me".

Fun fact: The band was originally named after Woody Woodpecker's laugh but had to change it for legal reasons.

The guy has an awesome voice, and I'm glad Deadpool introduced me to what I now consider to be the 'proper' version of the song.  That ain't no pop song and it's kind of a crime it was ever made into one considering how superior the proper version is - even though the pop version is definitely really, really fun.

....TBH, the only A-ha song I ever really liked was their title track for the 007 flick The Living Daylights....and found out only recently that the band and John Barry got along so poorly that Barry said enough and never did another Bond soundtrack.

Given that he's been dead for a decade he didn't miss much.
