A small dish of melted butter and a pastry brush work just as well.  And don't look like a weird sex toy.

And you can season the butter while you're at it.   A little garlic....or some Old Bay....or some black pepper....

I was going to say, that's how I learned how to butter my corn. Plus you get buttered bread instead of buttered hands.

That's what our neighbors when I was a kid used to do. I was told it was a Kansas thing.

When I was a kid, there was always a quart mason jar full of hot water and a layer of melted butter on the top. Dip, done.

growing up, my one cousin's family's kitchen always had some really weird (at least to me) stuff. e.g. squeeze "butter" - and they'd put that farking nonsense on every farking thing. and I mean everything, up to and including such as hotdogs, hamburgers, steaks...

And I've only recently discovered Mexican corn on de cob. I don't think I can go back.

Mayo, chili, garlic, S&P. The choice for me.

I've... always been curious when we have threads on cooking corn in a pot of milk and some butter, no water.

I would like to try it sometime, but I am farking addicted to milk and that seems farking wasteful.
