I'm not sure what to expect this time around.  I only know the favorites are France and Portugal.

France, yes but not Portugal. The list of favorites goes France, England (HAHAHA), Belgium (but how much can KdB play?), Spain (what about COVID?), Italy, Germany, then Portugal. All 7 have betting odds below 10-1. After that, it's a bit of a jump in odds for the Netherlands and then it's a big jump to everyone else.

There's 3 teams I can see winning this: France, Italy, and Germany. France are deservedly the favorites, Germany is... well, Germany, and I really like the Italians and think they could make some noise in this.

England will choke like they normally do, Belgium and Spain have health issues (but you could say that with just about every team after this season), and I don't have faith in Portugal doing it again.

I question Germany's competence after their botch in the last World Cup.  I am more confident in Ronaldo rallying that group than I am Kane with Engliand despite the lack of Henderson and Maguire.

France, Germany, and Portugal ended up in the same group somehow.  I could see Germany going out to a fluke loss to Portugal coupled with an anemic win against Hungary that fails to make them one of the third-place qualifiers...they've had periods of complete dominance with Low, but also matches where they just failed to show up.  It would sum up his coaching career to go out in the group stage in his last tournament.I could see any of the 7 teams you mentioned winning the tournament.  It doesn't feel like there's a clear favorite, probably because of all the COVID disruptions.  If I had to put a bet on a team to win it would probably be Italy, they've played very well of late and they don't seem to have attracted that much attention despite that.  If I had to pick a longshot it would be the Netherlands...they got handed the weakest overall group, get to play all three group matches at home, and if they do win Group C they get to play a team like Czech Republic or Sweden in the second round, so they could get to the quarterfinals without breaking much of a sweat.

Not exactly a glamour tie to start us off, but I think if Italy can look convincing here they might go all the way.

After the CONCACAFY match Sunday night with USA and Mexico, I'm ready for somewhat sane matches.

They should do Carmina Burana (O Fortuna)

I don't know why I didn't bother looking at the groups until just this minute. If anyone's familiar with that meme of a tiny blonde porn star surrounded by large black men all in underwear - that's the vibe I'm getting from Group F. Hungary, Portugal, France, and Germany.

About a decade back i was working with a very passionate Italy fan during a World Cup. He would belt out their anthem before every game, even if we were just sat in the office listening on the radio.

It's a good anthem for singing loud, as anthems go.

You can't beat the Spanish anthem for crown participation, though:

Lyrics to "La Marcha Real"

*eyes the crowd*
*sneeze, adjust scrotum*
*find general location of bathrooms*

They ran a contest a few years ago to try and get some lyrics for the Spanish anthem. They results were apparently so bad they chose to pretend it never happened.

Italy should use "Tarantella Napoletana" for its anthem.

I'm of an age where formula one doesn't sound right without the Italian and Brazilian anthems getting regular play.

They did that thing with the remote control cars at an athletics event once. They had them fetching the javelins etc...

Everyone complained it was too slow and they went away, sponsors be damned.

The only reason to not mind Ferrari winning a race is the Italian anthem

Ignore this, I thought Italy would be in their Azzurri with Turkey in white, not the crappy Puma away template for Italy and the tonal tit stripe for Turkey
