HB 1

Is it an insurrection if you storm the capitol to enforce democracy?

But Republicans are rushing to change the rules to make it easier for their party to overturn the will of the voters in future elections.

Fark around and find out biatches.

Oh my god, did you hear Republicans oppose overnight drive-through anonymous voting?  It's a attack on the very fabric of the very heart of the very essence of democracy!

No, sounds like a pretty stupid strawman though.

Not a lot else that can be said about it.

Overturning elections has consequences.

Yes, opposing people voting is, in fact, an attack on democracy.

"Will of Mother Jones subscribers" != "will of the voters."

Maybe the Democrats should focus on playing by the rules of our federal system rather than whining about not controlling enough states?

Try to understand this, everyone.

America is dead. America will not exist after 2030. The only thing to decide now is how to dissolve the remains of the union, amicably or not.

As part of its sweeping voter suppression law, Georgia's heavily gerrymandered legislature removed Georgia secretary of state Brad Raffensperger as the chair and a voting member of the state election board after he rebuffed Trump's attempt to overturn Joe Biden's victory. The legislature will now appoint a majority of board members, and the board, in turn, can take over up to four county election boards it deems "underperforming"-raising the prospect that Republicans could assume control of election operations in heavily Democratic areas like Atlanta's Fulton County. In concert with a provision allowing right-wing groups to mount an unlimited number of challenges to voter eligibility, these changes will make it easier for Republicans to contest close elections and possibly overturn the results.

"Election Integrity" my skinny white ass.

If the parties were reversed, you know they would be screaming up one side and down the other.

Even worse when they fail to see how their OWN votes can be overturned and tossed out. But they don't think that far if they think at all.

Its a Slow Motion Coup.

HB1 is the solution. But there are two Americans that could make it happen  -- but they won't.

It's now perfectly legal to overturn an election result that the legislative majority doesn't like.

That's not a democracy -- and that's not America.

What are the will of the voters when you can ignore what the voters want and install what is more amenable to the political party?

So Georgia is stripping power from the SOS and giving it to the Legislature and this is the best turd you could come up with?

They did.

Why do you THINK the fascist party is openly changing the rules with open and expressed intent of being able to simply change the winner if they want to?

It's good to know that you're OK with states throwing out the will of the voters.

You unAmerican slime.

Sounds like Biden will have to send in the army to take care of the insurrectionist states.

These shiatholes try to overturn democracy, Biden needs to treat them like states in open rebellion. Send in the army, put the entire state government under arrest for treason.

One would think so, but as we've seen you can incite people to storm the Capitol, give reconnaissance "tours," and even relay the location of elected officials during an insurrection and face zero consequences.

I imaging overturning an election will yield the same.

What is anonymous voting? This sounds like something that should be looked into.

I kid.

And if I want to drop my ballot off at 2am, I can. Since this state is actually run by adults.

I am all for passing some laws to enshrine voting rights and ensure fair and equal elections... but is there any reason to believe Republicans will adhere to those laws even if they're passed?

If the government moves to take away your franchise, you can either pick up your gun or put on your shackles.

It's your future, your choice.  I don't see Republicans surrendering peacefully, but a serious enough threat of violence might get the job done without actual violence.  Rolling over and taking it like a biatch won't slow them down at all.

Nobody gives a shiat what you want, only that you're given an opportunity to vote. Heaven forbit we disenfranchise slightly inconvenience night owls.

I'd love to see a reconciliation between the imagined "massive voter suppression" and actual "record voter turnout".
