Yes at first. I also see cool images within those colors.

I see red, which I always figured was light coming through my eyelid and blood.
Sometimes I see shapes or even a floater.

Roiling grey clouds.

Only the darkness of the eternal void.

It's like a kaleidoscope back there.

2021-06-10 2:28:57 PM
Yes.  Roiling clouds of blues and purples, usually.

2021-06-10 2:32:25 PM
Red splashes that fade slowly to blue.

Only if there's light in the room, and if there is, it's usually a red, but sometimes flashes of other colors. If I'm shutting my eyes for an extended period of time, the colors rush around, almost like the Windows 95 "zooming through space" screensaver

No, I just pull the trigger and hope the cops take my side.

Yeah, there's pretty much ever-shifting imagery and always has been. I've always been kinda curious just what the hell I'm 'seeing'.

No. Never have. I think you're all weirdos.

Yes I do.  I see a kaleidoscope.  Its kinda cool at first, but it gets old.

...  I thought everyone saw ALL the colors?

If I scrunch my eyes shut tight and wait, it starts to get interesting.

No, but every where I look it seems everyone put these angels in their yards. I didn't think my area was that religious. The neighbors must be moving them every day, or it is some teenage prank. I swear, sometimes I blink, and they have moved.

Generally not colors, just patterns of light dancing around my field of view.

2021-06-10 4:28:59 PM
No. But I can smell colors. And I can feel sounds. And There was never a better forward than Detlef Schrempf.

Not much.  Light brown with a strong light source, dark brown in low to average light, and black at night.

Of course, you don't see anything with your eyes per se, you see what your brain interprets from the input it gets from your eyes.  This is why, for example, witness testimony is always suspect.  We are pattern matching creatures and don't do well classifying stuff that it outside what we expect to see.

Back on subject, however--you'll see whatever your brain makes of the input.  Mine isn't gonna bother.  I know my eyes are closed and I'm off to sleep before I finish thi........zzzzzzz.

Had a procedure done several years ago where they injected some dye into my bloodstream so they could track the blood flow through my eyes.  Pretty weird; I saw waves of color as it passed through, and later on when I peed, it was a very intense color, like I was pissing green Gatorade.  Good thing they gave me a heads-up on that.

I see the same thing as when my eyes are open, just with blood dripping off everything and occasionally a body. Why?

2021-06-10 6:00:22 PM
Usually bright spots with halos which, if I keep my eyes closed, turn into something akin to old demoscene VFX - either a plasma tunnel/wormhole or a zooming fractal

/ When I was a lot younger - before I was eleven years old - I'd see a slightly "off" (dirtier colours, smudged edges, etc.) version of whatever I was looking at when I closed my eyes, which I could then manipulate

I see blobby colors and shiat dancing around when my eyes are open, nevermind closed. I really haven't thought about it much since I was a kid and back then I assumed it was normal.

i see sparkles and flares of color. i can also see a complete mini theatre in my mind. i can see things of imagination and i can see what i want to recall, like images of loved ones or scenes from movies

2021-06-10 6:21:31 PM
I usually see faint reddish gray squares.

/I also see lots of "floaters" with my eyes opened

It's like a rainbow, comes in colors everywhere.

If the room is dark enough I see faint colors slosh around like clouds, usually violet, pink, and light blue.  Sometimes as I fall asleep I just watch them and occasionally see a face, an animal, or other patterns like you find in clouds.

I do wonder how many things we experience and assume are normal and/or experienced by everyone, actually aren't. We might all live in the same world, even the same place, yet experience it very differently.

this.  all sort of colors and sometimes I can follow into the shapes as they turn into other shapes.

I had a friend who insisted that all he saw was black.

Nidiot that is one of the smartest quotes I've read in a very long time.

This may sound weird, but I was a minor child genius (bottom of the 99th percentile on standardized tests) as a kid with zero effort so I was always afraid to do shiat like E or LSD when I hit teenagerhood. When you're seeing colors and patterns everywhere, there's a fear that certain drugs will only make it worse and then you'll end up like A Beautiful Mind, so to speak.

Also this thread is making me feel really self-conscious about my Fark handle. It's a Pixies reference, people. To a song with lyrics about outer space or something. I can barely understand it.

Mone are like some old-school screensaver, kind of fractal-ish patterns usually in an assortment of colors. but sometimes white. More/better the more i squeeze my eyelids shut. Unexpected loud noises in the dark also give me a white flash.

I've got what is apparently a very common low-level synesthesia: I can "see" my hands with my eyes covered.  Conditions have to be right, and it's usually while I'm in bed in the dark and drowsy-but-not-quite-sleepy.  It's mainly darker "shadows" of my fingers that have a kind of image retention/strobing when I move them.  Often, I'll get a bit of "spark" or surface glow where one hand touches the other, or if there's a breeze from a fan.  Doesn't seem to work with my feet or anything, just the hands.

I've found that invoking that state works pretty well with making myself fall asleep when my brain is overdoing it's recap (of the day, of some stupid thing I did when I was a kid, etc), for obvious reasons.  But if I'm too wound up, no dice.
