Iran wants nuclear weapons to be safe from attack or for assuring the mutual destruction of attackers.  And thanks to republicans every other country knows America can not be trusted with any agreement.

Well, duh, that's why you have to constantly threaten them with NUCLEAR war.  Because if doing something doesn't work, it's never your approach that's wrong.  You just need to do the same thing but bigger & harder.  That never fails.

That guy was totally robbed of his Nobel Peace Prize!

According to Pardo, "Iran never would have dreamed" they would have gotten to this unprecedented high level of uranium enrichment in prior eras, but that the lack of strategy on the part of Israel along with the Trump administration, has led to the ayatollahs being potentially only weeks away from a nuclear weapon." Next you will tell me that invading a country immediately after it allowed inspectors to confirm they had no nuclear weapons will make countries not want to give up nuclear weapons.

So belligerent stupidity and random violence wasn't a coherent strategy? I suppose next you'll tell me I should avoid a land war in Asia.

Iran's economy isn't worse than 1950s USSR.  After Dubya simply attacked Iraq in naked aggression, the writing was on the wall to "get nukes or suffer an invasion".  And after Trump won, it was clear that invasion was on the table no matter how idiotic it might be (Dubya *might* be convinced that defeat was likely, never Trump).

The only shocking thing is that they have been slow-walking getting nukes for so long.  Using centrifuges instead of plutonium reactors (you can use "yellow cake" in the right reactor*) really implies that you are looking more for concessions than bombs (probably because you trust US generals (even after hearing a few of them insist that Iraq was a Crusade**) more than the Ayatollahs.

/* sure, it has the same design as Chernobyl
// so do US bomb factories.  The critical thing is never turning off all the safety features to "see what happens"
///** Crusader rules of engagement: "kill them all, God will know his own"

Well, Iran has also had mysterious accidents regularly for several years. Hard to know where they would be uninterrupted.

In hindsight, the doomsayers weren't wrong. Iran was never more than eight years away from a nuclear bomb: four years for us to elect an incompetent jerk, and four years for the incompetent jerk to ruin things.

Or you know actually bombing them.

FTA:  "Regarding the Palestinians, the former prime minister said that Israel lost the last round to Hamas because of the public relations achievements of the terror group.

He added that after the seventh day of the war, the IDF had no quality targets left and just continued aimlessly until the eleventh day to try to look tougher."

We need to cut off these Zionist shiatheads from everything; aircraft, bombs, money, Security Council veto until they start negotiating in earnest.

The absolute best form of diplomacy is to aggressively attack everyone around you, and then loudly wonder why all your neighbors hate you. Continue to explain your hostile stance is because everyone hates you, while refusing to negotiate with anyone (because everyone hates you), and meeting every display of aggression with a tenfold response (i.e. they throw rocks, you throw grenades; they throw grenades, you throw cruise missiles; they launch missiles, you launch full-scale artillery assaults, etc.). Accuse everyone who suggests a more measured response of ethnic hatred and reference wrongs done to you in the past, while continuing to ramp up aggression towards your weaker neighbors. Deliberately misinterpret every single act by your neighbors as directed solely towards yourself. Refuse to acknowledge any alternative except violence as a response to social ills. Reserve the right to interpret "attack" as you see fit. Declare loudly you will fire the last shot in any exchange.

This will guarantee your status as an international pariah unless you have the backing of a superpower with endless money.

Israel threatens Iran not because they care, but to keep their right wing politicians in power.
