I'm skeptical.

I would definitely be surprised if it's not still there in 2030.

First install an imitation Resolute Desk and a diet Coke button that leads nowhere. Throw in a few webcams and let the public get their money's worth out of the place.

"They don't want it to become a dominant issue that blows up," a former senior administration official involved in the discussions said of Biden officials. "They don't want it to become a lightning rod. They want it to be methodical, orderly."

Can't do thing because Republicans might get hurt fee-fees over it.

I CAN handle this truth, probably because it's not.

If the new tenants are everyone who ever worked for the Trump administration, I'd be okay with that.

No. Strap him in and make him watch people saying things to mock or belittle him 24/7. Mix it with the press saying nice things about Biden and Obama.

Only 12 years after Obama promised the exact same thing!

Republicans will figure out a way to keep it open and then use it as a lightning rod.

Are all the wrongfully imprisoned people finally dead?

No seaside Cuban prison.

I want the insurrectionists incarcerated in a polite Canadian gulag so no one believes the insurrectionists claims of mistreatment.

Don't make me repost the video of what happened to the Canadian girl who was impolite!
They killed her.

Uh, who, exactly, do you dream of imprisoning there?

Because you're admitting you're ok with violating the human rights of some people.

If a widespread, well-funded insurrection that involved people in government was still going on (as it is), I believe using Camp X-Ray to detain the perpetrators to avoid future beer gut putsches isn't a bad thing.

If I joined a militant cult that claimed to believe ridiculous conspiracy theories to avoid being seen as racist, I think some time there would deprogram the stupid.

It's what Republicans are doing to POC, women, LGBTQ, academics, scientists, and immigrants in plain sight, unprovoked, with laws on the books and the new shart they're cooking up to suppress democracy.

Democrats / liberals / progressives don't need to play to win for the sake of competition, but it sure would be nice if they played table stakes with these troglodytic asswipes.

The problem with Guantanamo is that it is a violation of both human rights and American due process. If you're ok with violating the rights of people you don't like, even if they are your enemy, then you don't really believe in either rights or due process.

But at least you're honest about it. I guess.
