(YouTube)   The first eight minutes of the movie version of Lin-Manuel Miranda's In The Heights. It is much better than Cats. I want to see it again and again   (youtube.com) divider line

Well, there's a quote that I thought I was one of the only people keeping it alive.

Would you settle for lipstick impressions all over the place?

Saw a preview screening a couple weeks ago.

In The Heights is a lot of fun and beautifully shot.

Wow! That was BEAUTIFUL!!! I'm not usually too keen on musicals. It's the jarring shift that usually happens when dialogue suddenly turns to song and then back again. In this case the music is everything and everywhere and it's so damned clever! Really looking forward to this.

Have you seen Once? I recommend it to everyone who says they don't like musicals for the reason you listed above. However, in Once, it's so organic people don't even know they're watching a musical.

I know it's going to be playing on HBO Max, but this I'd rather see first on the big screen.

Got my second shot last week. It will be my first time back in the theaters in fifteen months.

Thanks! That does look interesting.

My favorite musical that's not a musical (really) has to be Yesterday. Neat idea, well executed, and the music is really well done.

I love classical music. I love music theater. Opera (outside of some of the arias) is boring as fark.

I only went to one opera, and yes, I was so bored. After the second act, I joked to my wife that we should liven things up by doing the wave, and the guy next to me said "oh honey, this is the opera, you'll have to do it pinkies out!"
