"It doesn't look like it started in any natural way, that's for sure," Polep said.

What does a thing that starts in a natural way look like?

Perhaps the house was unoccupied and on the market? A house isn't a home unless it's lived in - right?

/Plus you need to hang your hat.

"Possible home explosion"?  Which part is in question?  That it exploded? Or that it was a home?  I should think the explosion would be self-evident.  Whether it was a home or not might be murkier depending on how big the explosion was.

The real estate market has been blowing up lately.

"...damage that was conducive to an explosion."   I don't think that word means what you think it means.

OK, who clicked?

" they noticed the damage that was conducive to an explosion "

So the damages caused the explosion?

I can just see some mid-level at the station going "Hey, for once it isn't us, we were quoting!"

It was an electrifying explosion.

You guys are real confused, it's not like they can just ask the home if it exploded or not.

"We was watching the TV"

I guarantee the emphasis was on the "T".

Gee wiz. 5 people in the house. Firemen could have asked them if something exploded.

I was thinking that they could be right, if they'd noticed that someone had been ripping out electrical wiring and gas pipes for salvage.

Could have been worse.

If it was Schrodinger the people would be simultaneously injured and not injured until the EMS checked them out.

If it was Heisenberg you would be unable to determine both how badly they were injured and how badly the house was damaged to a precision less than h-bar/2.

If it was Heisenberg, there'd be a pizza on the roof.

That's why they needed Heisenberg Compensators in Star Trek.  Cleaning pizzas off the phaser ports before wiping out klingons was too dangerous.
