He could probably spruce up that nickname by adding the word "artisanal" to it. I bet the Artisanal Butcher of Bosnia would have won his appeal.

Maybe he should have sex with a single horse?

"On Monday, a public screening of a movie glorifying Mladić was organized in Bratunac, one of the sites of the Srebrenica genocide. In Banja Luka, the administrative center of Republika Srpska, a banner was displayed with the inscription "We do not accept the Hague decision, you are the pride of Republika Srpska."

Every time there's a Genocide the perpetrators pull this shiat, yelling "Fake News" even in the face of all evidence, and with a persistence to deny reality for decades after in an attempt to rewrite history.

One has to wonder how he would stack up against the butcher of Kyviv?

Is sounds in the distance the neck-stretching machine being set up and fine tuned?

I love the phrase "will spend the rest of his life in prison".

Hoping to more of that in the near future.

As long as it's female. You don't want to be seen as a weirdo.

This butcher knew how to deal with verdicts he didn't like.

The butcher of Bakersfield was a real jerk, too. I don't know how he got so lucky.

But what of the Baker of Bosnia, or even the Candlestick Maker of Bosnia?

The way Europe's going, there will be other Mladićs before too terribly long.

I remember when Bosnia was first happening.  I was only out of the military for maybe a year or two, and I remember the discussion from the right wing all about how "We can't solve every dictator problem on Earth!" and the discussion from the civilized people on the planet being "But we can solve this specific dictator problem."

And we did, with almost no loss of life.   As a bonus, we put an end to the indiscriminate slaughter of Muslims at the hands of good Christians.

Which was odd because these same people were all gung-ho when we were getting ready to invade Iraq.

Ратко Младић -- something is lost when the name is spelled in Latin script for the benefit of foreigners.

That's a butcher whose cuts of meat I don't want to try.

I'm sure there is a point in there somewhere.

Islamophobia.

It wasn't stated as overtly in the Bosnian Wars because Croatia was also involved, but it became much more apparent during the Kosovo War, when there were a lot of comments about going to war against 'Christian Serbia'.

CSB: I briefly worked for Amb. Holbrooke years ago. His personal stories of dealing with Milosevic-and-cronies were bone-chilling to say the least.
