I don't know about "very clever" but he's got the rest of it.

It's a better defense than the varieties of  "we didn't do it and we'd do it again" approach that seems to be propagating through the jail they're in pending trial.

"As misguided as he was, he believed he was a patriot waiting to observe the events anticipated by 'The Storm,'" the motion stated. "To be certain, Jensen refused to obey Officer Goodman's order to stop and leave. And he did continue to follow him up the steps inside the Capitol. But Jensen neither threatened physical harm to anyone nor did he destroy any property."

Sure, he was chasing after a cop, but he didn't catch him, so...

Not a clever man? Sorry but you'll need to proceed to the twelfth plane of torment to pursue such a claim.

I was not a clever woman when I murdered that person. I thought I was doing the right thing, but I'd been led astray by kooky kooks with kooky conspiracy theories. I no longer believe murder is okay. so all charges dropped and I'm free to go, right?

"Clever people"? The people that are so clever they claimed a pizza place that had no basement was running a child trafficking racket out of its basement?

Truly dizzying intellects.

Awwww well you can think about what you did while you live a very structured life the next 10 ,maybe more, years and maybe you should read some while there. Maybe learn about how you got tricked by people and when you get out pass on your knowledge to others. But for now suck it up and take your medicine and just be glad you aren't swinging from a gallows.

Not just "people" running a child trafficking racket out of a non existent pizza joint basement, but, some of the most powerful dems at the time in DC.

Unlike the satanic panic of the 80s-90s this time round they made it political. And it is a brilliant propaganda tool to use on the Republicans because they are all dumber than a farking box of hammers.

That's what it always comes down to with these Beer Hall Putzes:

"Your Honor, I realize that I'm in trouble for breaking the law & flaunting my crimes on social media but since I'm white, can I offer up some weak half-baked apology then go about my business?"

The USA has become a stain on the planet.
Just as bad, or worse, than all the countries you have tried to change
and then ruined.
Your "Grand Experiment" is an abject failure and you have made The World
a place that only idiots and assholes want to live in.
Seriously, just FOAD already.

Remember all the calls for "glass parking lots" after 9/11?
That's more than you assholes deserve.
You elect and re-elect politicians that have been proven in your courts to be corrupt.
Why does this not stop?
You knowingly put pedophiles and rapists into the highest positions in your government,
yet project that onto those who call you out on that bullshiat.
F*ck you, America.
F*CK. YOU.

psilocyberguy: Guilty. 40 years. Have a nice life, traitor.

I was of the same mind until I got to this bit:

According to the filing, Jensen spent much of his formative years in foster care because his mother was "a diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic who was institutionalized over 30 times" when he was a child.

I may have developed some sympathy here. The poor bastard never had a chance. "Dangerous fool" really seems an apt description of him.

Wait until you get to thinking about how many people in prison have had that experience or far worse and it becomes clear that early intervention through education and support for all members of society is the only place to start combating these issues.  Yes, it's a gigantic piece of social policy that will require years of commitment and work from successive governments to realise a net gain for society as a whole.

So of course nazipublicans are against it.

Sure, but a dangerous fool is still dangerous. This guy is too goddamn dumb to recognize bullsh*t when his face is in it, and he's apparently willing to follow orders that are ridiculous and criminal.

He's literally too dumb to be allowed to go free.

I have no argument there. The absolute most freedom this guy could safely handle is perhaps an adult group-home.

I thought the same but I didn't feel sympathy but understanding, as in "ooooh so that explains why he's so messed up".

If I were him, I'd play up that inheritable, late on-set schizophrenia. He's susceptible to believing delusions. Either way, you're right, he didn't start life with good hand of cards.

Were they folks from the Cadet's camp that wanted to try anything to keep the grift going?

Or were they "dirty Libs" tricking you into believing you were going to change something when it was all a trap?

How quickly a bit of jail time makes the Cadet's followers cry "I was tricked!!!" And denounce all Q nonsense
