How much does a billion streams earn you?  Like $40,000?

Keyboard cat version of the video is great.

When I was a kid I thought they were named Hollow Notes until a friend told me otherwise.

They had some great tunes in the 70s then re-tooled/dumb-downed their sound in the 80s. Their early soul songs were fantastic.

I can't go for that.

It's been 12 years since they pulled the audio from the keyboard cat version off the internets.

I like Hall and Oates. They did some solid pop songs in the early-to-mid 80s. I also like the stuff they did in the late 70s. I'm not sure why people shiat on them as much as they do (not speaking of just on Fark, necessarily). She's Gone, Sara Smile, Rich Girl, Kiss on My List, Maneater, Private Eyes, I Can't Go For That (No Can Do), Out of Touch, You Make My Dreams...those are all great songs.

I do recommend watching Daryl's House, he's had some solid guests on that show.

I love them.  The vocals, the songwriting and incredible melodies.  They are insanely talented.

I saw Hall and Oates on tour with Trombone Shorty and Sharon Jones a few years ago. It was a really fun show. The reason people rag on them is because even though the songs are quality, they are kind of not honest. Daryl Hall admits as much in interviews: They work to write hits to make money and there is not feeling behind any of them. They are basically mercenaries.

Good tune but overplayed AF.

Unfortunately I'm going to miss Hoagienation 2021 (https://manncenter.org/events/2021-08-07/hoagienation), a Philly music festival put on by Hall & Oates. It's been a blast in prior years.

Definitely my guilty pleasure band.

It sounds like the streaming is mostly on Spotify which is an extremely Euro-centric app and they go crazy for all of our old 80's bubblegum pop.  When I was in Germany 10 years ago all we heard on the radio was the light soft 80's pop music.  My boss I was with commented that it was "the land of lost songs."

Still though, Hall & Oates deserve more respect than that.  Those guys could really put a song together and they actually did it themselves with their own skill and songwriting skills.

The songs being overplayed everywhere would be a good reason. Maneater in particular comes to mind.
