Yuengling exists only to be the beer you order when you're in some lame bar that only has a bunch of stuff like Budweiser, Miller, and Coors on tap.  It's the least mediocre option.  If Sams is on tap too, then that becomes the go-to.

Controversial headlines get greened so I get it subby, but I wouldn't call Yuengling mediocre

since we don't get this in California, it's always a nice treat when i can get it.

I like beer.

I think it's cool.  The people most excited about this around here (Houston), that I know, are from up North East.

So, is it named after the noise you make when you're puking it back up?

I mean if Youngling is Coal Miners piss is Lone Star Ranchers piss?

At least PA has Victory and a decent Belgium and a fantastic IRS in the Storm King (I need it. Where do I find it?)

Texas was a lot of hopped up crap till I hit the Blue Owl in Austin which brews all Sours. And their black cherry Sour stout was pretty damn amazing.

Montana wins yall, most breweries have some form of a Scotch Ale at least.

WTF. They didn't have it already

That was an old roommates go to12 pack in the fridge.  Too sweet and too flat for my taste.

It's still pretty much only an East Coast beer.

*shrug* I like the Black and Tan

I'll just stick with a  glass of club soda with a slice lime.

We already have Lone Star for cheap swill.

2021-06-08 5:31:50 PM
Ahh yes. Union busting, Trump loving Yuengling. Ought to fit in perfect with Texas.

2021-06-08 5:41:49 PM
It's not Yuengling beer being sold in Texas but "Yuengling  brand" beer made by Mplson Coors.

I hope Dick Yuengling screwed up his marketing agreement with Mplson Coors  and they wind up taking over his company and ruining it.

Rent. Free.
Trump has absolutely nothing to to with this. TDS at it's finest.

Yuengling is OK. I consider it better than Budweiser, Miller, etc. Why the asinine tag subby? We get it. Yuengling isn't made in a Belgian monastery from rare fermented goat milk but it's a solid, basic lager.

True. Mediocre would be a bit generous

Yuengling is a great lager at its price point. If you want a fancier lager, or a different type of beer, go buy that.

I just let my fellow NASA friend from PA know this and he is not sure what to think about this. It seems that Yeungling made a big deal a while back about how they would never license their beer out to be made by anyone else.

The Penguins v Capitals head to head games we have watched really have not gone my way over the last decade.

I predict a lot of bar fights when Pennsylvanians get a little too excited and declare it better than Shiner Bock in  a moment of poor judgment.

They're both mediocre, but not outright bad like Bud, Miller, Coors, etc

I'm just psyched that so many formerly-regional brews are opening new locations to serve other markets -- Sierra Nevada and New Belgium in Asheville, Lagunitas in Chicago, etc.

Lagunitas only just became available in Chicago? It's been all over the Milwaukee market for what, maybe the past decade?

If you get the chance mix the chetty with the stout for a better flavor. The black and tan uses yeungling premium.

They are sold everywhere in Chicago. The hole in the wall bar across the street from me carry it.

Wisconsin farker here, and Yuengling still isn't available for sale. I once picked up 4 cases of the stuff at the Costco in South Bend, Indiana though.

It's all about distributors. When I was in college Coors products were not available East of the Mississippi River. Some buddies and I went to Colorado for Spring break. We visited the Coors brewery.  At the end of the tour we were allowed 2 beers in their bar. I tried Killians Irish Red and thought it was the best thing ever. Something about being able to smell the brewing process and tasting the beer. When we got back to school, we started making trips over the Border to Illinois for Coors Light Party Balls. We used to wrap them like gifts to smuggle them into the dorm.

No, it's been all over the US for years -- but it all had to ship from CA, which was expensive and sometimes had bottlenecks.

I mean they're brewing in Chicago now, just like the other two in NC.

At least you realize it. Nothing like trash admitting that it's trash. Now waddle back to your dumpster, toddler.

I realize it's fashionable to hate Texas and assume that everyone here flies giant trump flags on their pick-em-up trucks ... but you do realize we have microbreweries here? And that pretty much everywhere else in the US, even in the bluest of the progressive blue states, people will lap up the InBev swill?
