Yup. If your $5 footlong is only 9 inches, you must close.

Ahh, that's right. That's why I don't go there.  Well, that and their bland food.

Hopefully, this will lead to the closure of more Subways.

I really just don't get how Subway is in business.  It's a fast food sandwich chain and not even the best one.  When I eat at Jack in the Box I think "yeah" the food is mediocre, but at least I don't have to clean a deep fryer.  With Subway it's just "I could have made a much better sandwich, for cheaper, in like 2 minutes from ingredients at my grocery store's deli".

Even in sandwich chains, Quizno's and Penn Station are much better... and so is virtually every corner store deli in America.  It's all fast food, the meat is already cooked.  I work night shift at a factory and the local subway is the only restaurant open at "lunch"... every time I think about going there I go "no, I'll just have a ham and cheese sandwich from the vending machine".  Subway is a little bit better, but not worth the break time.

Then there's there's the whole, the face of the corporation is a known pedophile" thing.

The Subway closest to my work is absolutely disgusting.  Mold and crud coming out of the ice machine, last time in there witnessed an employee SNEEZING twice on the vegetables and going on like nothing happened.  Warned my coworkers about it, several still went back and they got sick, mostly from the tuna.

I called and sent letters to the management, Subway corporate and even the local Board of Health but absolutely nothing got done.

Even if I did want to go back to a Subway now, I'm not going to patronize any franchiser that treats it's franchisees like such shiat.

Stay open after a terror attack? Yeah good luck with that if something happens I am gone unless the roads are so jammed up I will wait til they clear. I saw my company emergency response plan and it says we are to meet at this park across the street from work and wait for orders. Yeah good luck with that.

I hated during my restaurant days going in during snowstorms, think the most we ever got was 5 customers.

Dear Subway,

You are not Waffle House. Your food is barely edible, your employees are morons, and there's zero 3 AM entertainment to be had when drunk fools come in for food. Just stop.

Sincerely,
Humanity

Now force them all to take the coupons that come in the mail.

This is the chief reason to never open a franchise. In any business. You become a lamb to be slaughtered the minute corporate decides its time to extract revenue beyond what sales are capable of generating.

From that article, I am pretty sure that contract is unenforcable in Canada.

Ah, the life of a Subway franchise owner...

Hang up signs of pervert. Take signs of pervert down.

Charge $5!

Melt this extra cheese, even if it's time consuming and dangerous to your employees!

Always stay open!
