Original Tweet:

2021-06-07 10:15:01 AM
Without the computer he would be just another washed up blowhard without an audience.  Twitter made him what he is today.

Then again, this coming from the idiot who wants steam-powered catapults.

2021-06-07 10:20:19 AM
Twitter should reinstate him but tell him he can only send out tweets using paper.

He can go first

(then nobody tell him....)

It is by will alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the juice of Sapho that thoughts acquire speed, the lips acquire stains, the stains become a warning. It is by will alone I set my mind in motion.

Yep, just Pony Express a letter to the guy sitting in a hut in the middle of no where telling him to adjust the pressure on the pipeline valve via hand crank so that they whole thing doesn't break.

Sounds 100% efficient and reliable!

Trump famously does not use emails.
He does this to avoid a paper trail to his crimes. That may be where this latest batshiat idea came from.

Not to throw a bone at Trump here, but it does make sense to maintain an air gap between critical infrastructure and the outer reaches of the internet.  This is probably one point on which his Russian masters would disagree.

"That's another beauty," Trump complained... "I don't think we should have all of the Bitcoins of the world out there. I think they should regulate them very, very high."

I think I read the same thing in fark comments.

He famously doesn't not use a laptop or desktop computer.

Ignorant people tend not to appreciate the value of things they're ignorant of.

He likely doesn't comprehend his smart phone is a computer in a different formfactor.

"That's another beauty," Trump complained. "The currency of this world should be the dollar. And I don't think we should have all of the Bitcoins of the world out there. I think they should regulate them very, very high."

What in the hell...?

I think all Fark comments should be submitted on punch cards. Drew can run submission batches every day at 11AM.

I cannot think of a single way this brilliant plan could go wrong.

Actually, that would be TV. TV is what originally made him big.

Back when we didn't have computers, if you had extremist views you had to mimeograph your own newsletter and buy stamps and send it out to your mailing list, because the mainstream media has gatekeepers that wouldn't amplify your message. I am perfectly fine with returning to that, if that's what he wants.

Maintaining an air gap is at least two parsecs further than going back to paper.

An air gap is unnecessary if the machines have been properly configured, secured, monitored, and maintained.  It is simply cheaper and faster to NOT do all that, then whine when you get penetrated.  Better get used to it.

Considering the overlap between (the more vocal) Bitcoin advocates and Trump supporters, this is hilarious.

Generally this is already the case. I've been in a number of lockbox/secure facilities and they are all air gapped. The oil/gas company that was at fault here didn't allow their infrastructure to be accessed either, they couldn't bill anymore, thus they shut down the pipeline.

I would go one step further - reinstate him but he's permanently shadowbanned.

He could tweet all the nonsense he wants but no one would see it.
