The promise was that with Democrats in power, "we're going to have all these great things happen, their lives are going to be better. And what they're finding is that it looks like Washington as usual."

I believe the phrase you're looking for is "a return to normality?"

So... how's that normality thing working out for you?

I want Joe Manchin to identify a single Republican Senator from the last 30 years who even once said "woah, we need to cool our jets on this judge nomination until we get some Democrats on board otherwise it will look bad and be seen as partisan."

They've hit their wall for how they are willing to wield their power.

It's over. Whatever they manage to cobble together is going to be watered down to the point of uselessness, don't expect anything transformative coming.

The GQP is thinking it already has 2022 and beyond locked up thanks to all the ridiculous voter suppression measures they've managed to ram through in the various swing states.  They might be right.

I'm beginning to think that the Democratic party's mindless focus on federal elections while allowing state and local parties to wither up and die like unwatered crops in the desert may be starting to have exactly the sort of consequences that could've been seen coming from a mile away.

As much as I disliked his politics, John McCain did precisely that with the Obamacare dismantling bill, and it's the reason that 20 million people still have health insurance today. That was probably the last time from the R side. Kyrsten Sinema tried to tap into the same energy by denying 20 million people a slightly more liveable wage.

Psssh....Who needs a 50 state strategy when you have California? Someone who rides on a wave of 50-state populism might scare people by screaming too loud with excitement after a primary or something.

At least when the Lions finished 0-16, they fired the guys that led them to that point.

The Democratic Party, on the other hand, still has the same people behind their failed 2010, 2014, and 2016 election efforts advising the party today.

fark off with this BSAB.
The democrats can't pass anything substantive because they have a majority in name only. 48 votes in the senate isn't enough to do anything. If you want to be mad at someone, be mad at republicans. Their ONLY policy anymore is "do what we need to to stay in power" and that generally means voting against anything Democrats have lined up, no matter how sensible or popular.

Nah, lol.

We had a few chances, but too many Resisters didn't want their (Dad's) hard earned money being taxed further to go to those people, and while defunding the police sounds great in theory, they can't stand to live without a government run bully squad to keep their gated communities pristine.

Anyway, I can the the difference...! One side actively makes thinks worse, and the other side sits and watches before throwing up their arms and saying "well, we tried nothing and we're out of ideas!"
