Doses, not number of people completely vaccinated. Only 41.9% of the US population has been completely vaccinated.
I wonder if they're using the adult population numbers in general, the population numbers of people age 12 and up, or the total population. Makes a big difference, and no articles I've read has made note of it.

I would say the majority at this time is adults - let's say 75% and the other 25% are children above 12.  Most likely the majority of the children will get vaccinated before adults do. Especially if schools "encourage" the kids to be vaccinated before next school year.  I imagine that some might say "no sports if you don't have kiddo vaccinated."  Regardless, I think more children will be vaccinated in the long run before adults.

At this point I hope they get COVID and die. That will get us closer to herd immunity than waiting on them to change their minds.

Yup

No idea why the percentage never states what it is a percentage of.

In Quebec, the stat is clearly identified as "of the population aged 12 or older". We are just starting the second doses but are nearly at 80% for first dose and have no expectation that people will skip the second

Sorry guys I've been distorting the numbers.  Dragonfruit has been hard to come by and the Pfizer shot is a great thickener for smoothies. It takes a lot of doses. I've been diverting several hundred thousand per day. Toss in some Acai and call it the Immune Booster, and people just eat it up!

Ignoring the danger, politicizing masks, promoting quack cures, and refusing to ask his cultists to get vaccinated.

You can be fully vaccinated with one shot with J&J. That's what we went for.

My brain just exploded. The article says 300,000,000 have had at least 1 dose, which represents 51% of the US. Yet, the US population is 325,000,000. Soooooooo, if 300m is 1/2, who are these other 275m phantom people????????

What I'm looking for is this -- what number are they using for the population? If they're using census numbers, the percentage is skewed. I have time today, I'm going to make some calls and see if I can find out. Since there have been articles saying that it's over 60% of our population fully vaccinated, it seems that everyone isn't using the same criteria.

Except that Covid is fatal mostly to the elderly, and even then at a low percentage so your hope to see the heaped bodies of people you dislike is sadly doomed. On the other hand, their contracting the disease will bring them into the herd immunity fold just through their naturally-come-by antibodies. Sorry that they'll still be alive against your wishes, but better luck next time.

Yep. While this is good news, we're far from being ready to go. We need to get at least 70-75%, or more, of the U.S. population completely vaccinated before we can clap & cheer, then discard our damned masks and resume a normal life.

And, as the article notes, we're down to less than a third of the vaccination rate we had in April. We're about to hit the Wall of Stupidity.

Or like my wife's high school friend and her husband, they say they will definitely not get a vaxx as they do not want to put experimental unapproved vaccines in their system. UNLESS! The cruise ship industry sticks to their must be vaccinated to go a cruise policy through the end of the year, because then they would totally get the vaccine so they can go a cruise.

Not kidding,
They are OK people but very self interested and very farking dumb,
Pretty sure the Mrs talked them down this past weekend,
