They have a lot of good books. My childhood had been defined by a few of them.

I can remember being so eager to get home from school I could choose some books when the teacher handed out the scholastic order booklet.

RIP

The scholastic book fair is one of the dark memories of my childhood. I love books and always have, so it sucked being the poor kid when the big truck full of books rolled up.

Yep, parents had to decide what bills to pay and what got turned off some weeks. The book fair was a fun fantasy but I didn't ever bring any books home with me. Luckily my friends would let me borrow some of the books they bought so I didn't miss out.
