Considering the fact that Danny Elfman has the crazy-eyed facial expression of a Hollywood movie serial killer, I can understand why they'd be worried.

It would have been believable that he did enough coke to kill a small horse.
And Burton.  And Nicholson.  Probably Keaton and Basinger and Palance.  And that guy who played Bob.

I remember getting the music score on cassette well before I saw the movie.  And I played the music while playing 'F-19 Stealth Fighter' on my DOS based computer.  If I was lucky, the part from the Batwing attack on the Joker would coincide with a bombing run.

I too had it in cassette and we would play it while driving on this stretch of backriads where the forest would envelope the road. Of course this was late at night with the headlights off and driving over the speed limit. High school was fun.

Danny's half of the Batman soundtrack was amazing. Prince's half felt...forced

Did he start by playing "Little Girls"?

Danny Elfman composed most of the Batman score when he composed the Beetlejuice score, which he has been self-plagiarizing for the past several decades.

I'm still amazed at all the stuff he's done

Tracey Walter. Prolific "that guy" character actor who's been in the business for decades.

Characters like Batman NEED theme songs like his that REMIND you of the character.

Burton's Batman, Donner's Superman, Harry Potter, Luke Skywalker/Darth Vader, Indiana Jones..... (and of course most are done by John Williams)

But when you hear those songs, you think of those characters.

I think half the reason the new DC films are bombs is because they don't have themes (except Wonder Woman.  Her guitar riff theme thing is awesome!)  But even the Marvel movies, though the Avengers has a recognizable theme, I would argue each individual character doesn't have anything remotely recognizable as Harry Potter or Superman.

Will likely never happen, but I'm still hoping for an Oingo Boingo reunion show someday.  I'd fly down to LA for that.

Ha. Something similar happened to me. I was on a Portland to Phoenix flight a few years ago, and the podcast I listened to, Jim Norton was on, doing his "Chip Chipperson" character.  It was  something like, his girlfriend was giving him a blowjob, and he started doing the "Chip" voice and his girlfriend started getting pissed and of course, the angrier she got, the more he dug in.

(it doesn't sound funny in the telling, i'm surely getting some aspect wrong).

but anyways, it was dying with laughter.  My seatmate, a complete stranger, taps me on the shoulder and asks, "hey man, are you ok?"  I paused the podcast and said, "oh yeah, i'm just listening to this hilarious podcast.  I' fine.  I'm sorry to have bothered you."  I turned it back and the comedy bit started back up.  I start losing my shiat again.

2-3 minutes later, a flight attendant comes over and measured, dulcet tones:  "SIR.  are you ok?  Do you need help?"  I had to explain to her I was fine and not in fact having a complete mental breakdown at 20,000 feet, Shatner style.

I saw their reunion tour in DC and desperately wished I could afford to go to LA for the real finale.
I think he occasionally plays a show or two that does both score and some Boingo stuff but I may be mistaken.

Yeah there's a vid out there of he and Steve Bartek playing dead man's party with a bunch of tribal Indian instruments...it's pretty lame in comparison.

Danny was not known as a cokehead, and even if he was he'd still have a long way to go to approach Stevie Nicks, Stephen Stills or Linda Ronstadt levels.
