(Audible.com)   I'm looking for recommendations of good horror audio books. Not only good stories, but also good narration. Bad voice acting absolutely kills an audio book for me. Difficulty: no politics crap   (audible.com) divider line
More: Scary, leader of the free world, young man, long time, Audible favorite, new stepmother, good man, first volume of his presidential memoirs, much fun

_Fool_ by Christopher Moore is _King Lear_ from the Jesters POV.  Not Horror, per se, but it does feature a cast of horrible characters behaving horribly.  Plenty of sex, violence and foolishness, and the voice actor does it justice.

I've also been on the quest to find more horror audiobooks; a few of the more memorable ones I've listened to recently are:

Carrion Comfort by Dan Simmons

Trapped by J.A. Konrath (His Jack Daniels series is also pretty good)

Little Heaven by Nick Cutter

Not really of the horror genre, but Birdmanand The Treatment by Mo Hayder are filled with plenty of horrors.

It's not an audiobook, but the podcast Old Gods of Appalachia is an eldritch story that is really outstanding. Great narration, great writing, and great voice-acting.

Is the political horror genre a thing??

It just seems like such an odd request to throw into the tag line.

I don't know.  But I figured within the first 3 replies someone would put a link to a Trump book or some politician's book or whatever.  So I put that in the headline.  Just wanted to avoid that crap for one freakin' thread on here.  And of course someone had to make that "joke."  I just wanted some real recommendation to audio books of the horror genre.

Heh. I hadn't even moused over that link. /sigh

Anyway, fair enough. I don't often read horror, for whatever reason, so I'm not much use there. I will say Gaiman does a pretty good job voicing his own books, IMO, and he's...maybe horror-adjacent?

Not *exactly* audio 'books', but...

How do you feel about Doctor Who?  I hear *very* good things about the audiodramas from BigFinish.

Not really what I'm looking for.  But thanks for the suggestion anyway.
