Yay road coarse racing. At least the weather is guaranteed to be better than the 24hr 10hrs of nurburgring yesterday.

Another glorious day in the Bay Area. Perfect weather for a race, too. Not too hot, clear sky, and just a light breeze.

And goddamn, I love Clint and Jeff busting each other's chops, even bringing Coach Shanahan into it!

I've been driven around Sears Point in a civilian car, and even tho it never reached race speeds, I developed a helluva lot of respect for anyone who drives this track. This place knocks you around like you wouldn't believe.

"We have a competition caution coming"

Why?

It hasn't rained in months, so the rubber can't be washed off.

The Chute, up at the top of the track, that bypassed the Carousel completely.

The same reasoning for stage racing with 10 minute breaks

I liked that Coke commercial, especially the cinematography choices. Also how it seems to be a reprise of the one about being under lockdown that ran for so long.

Someone smite Dammit. I tire of all this Larson-y.

While I don't agree, it is due to the lack of qualifying and limited practice.  The theory is it allows teams to check tire wear and make adjustments they didn't have a chance to do.  It is entirely unnecessary and simply tries to bunch the field on a long road course and create drama.

too fast on pit road. drive-thru penalty. and on this track, that's a long-ass pit road to have to drive through.

I know I bring this periodically, but has there ever been a proper explanation why we need a caution at the end of a stage?  I mean, there used to be a point given for leading at the halfway point of the race, but they didn't throw a yellow flag to award that, they simply used the electronic timing and awarded the point. Why not do that for the various stages, award the points based upon the running order but keep going?  Bunching up the field and letting teams pit is just an artificial crutch that is entirely unneeded.

huh.. I guess Asshat doesn't live in the same house as Denny and Jowy

Commercials.  It is all about the ability to run more commercials.

no explanation. Plus, no explanation for why those laps count toward the race.
