That asshole was neck deep in Trump's shenanigans way before he joined his staff.

One of the claims Meadows included was the absurd and relatively obscure conspiracy that Italians had used satellites and other technology to remotely switch votes from Trump to Biden.

Ain't gonna lie. That is a new one for me and I thought I had heard them all by now.

Italy? Did they also make fake ballots using spaghetti strands? I mean, it would be cheap as it grows on trees over there.

But the President can't be charged with wrongdoing! During or after! He was only making requests! There's nothing illegal with that! It's Rosen who should be investigated! Why wasn't he following orders from his Commander-in-Chief!?

I like the idea. Investigate the republicans for their actions.  Release all the texts, emails, phone recording, etc from anyone involved in the vote totals and the subsequent "investigations" into the results.  Watch what happens when everyone involved in the Big Lie has their actions reported to the public.

Republicans need to pay for their actions with everything they wrote/said put in the public sphere for everyone to see.

Mad Libs about the Libs.

This shiat would be hilarious if it wasn't so effective in innoculating the right from their very obvious and severe crimes.

I'm wondering how all these morons determine which of these conspiracy theories are "true" and which are simply too outlandish, even for them. I guess the rubric differs from moron to moron.

I suppose there's a large constituency out there that believes all of them, which would be hilarious because that would mean Biden got, say, around 247% of the vote. I'm guessing at that point they'd come up with a new conspiracy as to why that didn't happen ("See, they switched Trump votes to Biden votes, but when it got to be too many, they switched Biden votes to Trump votes! It's all so obvious!")

I'm glad the DOJ has now, at least publicly, regained it's independent stature in our government.

In case you forgot what Italygate was.

Ah, it got aired on Jan 6th, that might be why I never heard of it.

Also, I would say it's about as dumb as expected, but we have people looking for bamboo fibers on ballots in Arizona so who the fark knows what stupid shiat they'll come up with next.

I actually agree that the DOJ should investigate the Big Lie, and arrest anyone who is using it to try to overthrow the government.

The switching part kind of happened somewhere. bunkie was ahead until that box of mail ballots rolled in at 2am and they counted enough votes to give Biden a safe margin but not so big to detect the cheating. Not all of the ballots were counted or they were counted twice depending on which shaggy dog you confer with.

So yeah, it's out there.

9 out of 10 elected Democrats[1] agree that failing to support the Republican Party's patriotic quest for absolute power would be divisive, partisan, and unAmerican.

So...good luck with accountability.

Well...after the USSR and the US, Italy was the third country to operate its own satellite.

His audition for the CoS  job was when he came out of the televised 1st Impeachment hearings and blatantly lied about what had just been said on camera. Multiple times. Gleefully. Shamelessly.

Required behavior for a member of the trump administration. Fit right in as CoS.

Maybe Greece did it? Lord knows they need the money.

Well shiat, I read the headline and thought Meadows had pressured DOJ to look into who's spreading the lies, like were they created and promoted by a foreign agency kind of investigation.  I thought, man, that would be great if he showed that little bit of responsibility and honesty.  Nope.  He was just being a corrupt scumbag like I should have expected.

It's bad enough to say it out loud, knowing that it's false.

It just goes to show you that "Moderate GOP" Mark Meadows is just as willing to engage in the slow-mo-coup, etc, as is the rest of the lot.

He tried to weaponize the DOJ to support a seditious lie and strategy.

Same here.
I read the whole article twice, and it was written ambiguously enough that I still wasn't sure about his intent.

Pointy Tail of Satan: As a non-American looking it, it's like watching a modern version of the fall of the Roman Empire.

It feels that way from the inside too. But its more the fall of the Roman Republic. That still took approximately 100 years from the murder of the Gracchi Brothers in 133 and 123 BC until Augustus became de facto emperor in 27 BC. It was still basically an empire during that time, just one that was still governed by a republican form of government for most of it.

I keep getting confused by Mark Meadows because of Tim Meadows.

Naturally, I prefer Tim.
