There were many who thought the area around Chernobyl was going to be a dead zone for at least 1000 years. The flora and fauna are flourishing and people are resettling. Let's see if we get a Red Son Superman. I'll settle for a Gojira in Japan.

I thought Fark's Fukushima resident might pop in to comment. I was interested to hear his insane ramblings about how Fukushima was actually destroyed by the foreign press and how these French chefs doing free PR for the prefecture was somehow actually anti-Japanese. Leaving disappointed.
