Had a young girl do something similar to me once, was pretty weird

That's how I got mine.  Went to look at a few, they brought her out first and she just climbed into my lap.  Looked at a few others, but went back to the first one.  3 years in July.

We got this guy from a rescue. We had to schedule an appt to see him because he would only let certain staff walk him/take him out of his pen. When they brought him in to see us the first thing he did was walk over to me, step on my foot and lean. He then did the same to Mrs Pnd and Pnd jr. The staff couldn't believe their eyes. They waved all adoption fees.

That's basically how I ended up with this guy. He pawed at me and nuzzled me at the adoption event. The first 8 weeks were rocky tho. But he's given me the best 5 years. And it looks like he's crossing the rainbow bridge soon. I spent this last week finding out via a surgery to remove a pyloric valve blockage that he has a tumor in his stomach. Dont know how long he's got yet, but he's home now and I'm doing palliative care until it's time for him to go.

Yep, that's how Sissy chose us. She came thru the fence and it was love at first sight.

This shameless freeloader practically climbed on top of my head at first meeting.

Too cute, subby. I often take lunch in my neighborhood park and local dogs do that to me. Not sure if it's my animal magnetism or my sandwich they're after 😄

My landlord at the time volunteered with the shelter and said I had to drop everything and get down there.

Little guy had been abandoned (I assume), and was clearly scared and matted and patchy fur, and all he wanted to do was lick my hand and be friends.

Best decision I've ever made

That wasn't my fault. He shoved his nose too deep into the puppicino, and, it was too funny to free him before a picture.

- a journalist went to cover a story about a shelter for abandoned dogs . That beautiful and innocent puppy, wanting affection and a home , grabbed him with his legs .. the journalist , adopted him ❤

There is no evidence that any word in this story is true and there isn't any other background - like who, when and where.

I can't find Koksal Akin's (@newworlddd555) twitter post  but it probably contains little info. Hr is a prolific poster of pet and cute videos he's found without saying where.

This video caused a buzz during its rounds but no further info has turned up.

At least Bored Panda stuck in an "allegedly".

Well, yes - but this is D'aww.  Factuality is somewhat more optional than most tabs.

Seems like a weird thing to fabricate and an even weirder thing to conduct a major journalistic investigation into.

My wife got adopted by her first dog, Flash. She was walking home from school and saw a dog playing with a bunch of kids near her house. He was really friendly and had already been fixed, but had no collar. None of the kids playing with the dog knew where he lived. He literally followed her home, and she had him for more than ten years- bringing him with her when she married me.

Flash decided we were good people, and would sometimes herd stray dogs or cats into our yard if he thought they needed help. We used to joke there was an invisible green cross over the house, because we continued to adopt animals this way even after Flash died. Any animal in our general area which is sick, injured, hungry, or looking for a place to stay eventually ends up at our place- no matter where we live. In Italy, this caused a few problems. Italy is awash in stray cats. When I was stationed on a flagship home-ported in Italy, every time I went to sea, there'd be another furry freeloader in the house when I got back. By the time we transferred back to the World, there were 17 cats we had to find homes for.

We continued to get pets through the Invisible Green Cross network. In Texas, a polydactal tortie wandered into the yard while the wife and I were gardening, and promptly climbed into my wife's lap for some cuddles. We named him Pyewacket. When we were stationed in Norfolk, we were feeding a bunch of feral cats who clustered around our apartment, and one of them literally herded a kitten to us so we could take care of her. We named her Ragamuffin.

The only shelter cats we adopted basically chose us as well. We were in PetSmart getting some supplies, and we stopped by their adoption center to look at the cats. One cat, a Russian Blue mix with a broad face, cozied up against the glass when I talked to him, and even pawed at the glass, trying to get to me. The adoption people were shocked, because Dude was usually aloof and indifferent to people. They'd never seen him act like that. While were were filling out the paperwork to adopt Dude, a lanky, dark, Maine-Coon mix apparently decided my wife was the greatest thing since sliced bread, and kept trying to get her to hold him- to the point he was getting in the way of completing the paperwork. I figured the cat's demonstration of good taste earned him a forever home, so we adopted him, too. I had to finish filling out the paperwork, because the Maine-Coon (whom we named Sensei) refused to get out of my wife's arms.

Poor thing only has three half legs.

You're wonderful for taking care of a disabled hound.
