Fauci deals in facts

Conservatives only deal in alternative facts

Is it any wonder they hate the guy?

My FB feed is full of derps that are absolutely obsessed with this guy. A person that promoted exactly zero political ideologies in his strictly science-based reasoning.

But the monkey howlers are trying to shoehorn some deep state BS in there cause they just can't bring themselves to believe the simple truth that they all just plain suck.

It's buried in the FOIA dump of his emails.

One specific email has been redacted under FOIA section section (b)(7)(A). That specific exemption to disclosure applies to "records or information compiled for law enforcement purposes, but only to the extent that production could reasonably be expected to interfere with enforcement proceedings."

He's under criminal investigation for perjury.

IIRC, the outrage media are going on about Fauci lying because he was A. Contradicted by the white house, or B. The science changed, making what was true into a lie, and therefore neither the old nor the new can be trusted.

That's some epic projection and assumption there, buddy.

You know it's possible that somebody else is being prosecuted for perjury, right? And that somebody else lied about something connected to the virus? Because there were a few liars in the Trump Administration.

Would you like me to explain now how you put on pants?

In their fantasy universe, Fauci unleashed the virus onto the world to make the orange moron look bad (as if he needed any help with that) to ensure Biden the pedo kiddy sniffer got elected. He's definitely part of the cabal keeping the pedo elites in power. I mean they're just lunatics at this point, with this obviously false BS. No connection to objective reality whatsoever but man they sure are outraged about their fantasy bogeymen.

Discordulator: When did he testify under oath?

When Rand Paul was asking him about gain of function research and Fauci lied about it.

On Feb 1, 2020, Fauci sent an urgent email to his top deputy, Hugh Auchincloss. The subject of his email, in all-caps, was "IMPORTANT." "Hugh: It is essential that we speak this AM. Keep your cell phone on. Read this paper as well as the email that I will forward you know. You will have tasks today that must be done." Attached to the email was a document entitled, "Baric, Shi, et al -- Nature Medicine -- SARS Gain of Function.pdf."

The "Baric" in that attachment refers to Ralph Baric, a virologist based in the United States who collaborated with the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Baric worked with a Dr. Shi Zhengli -- known as the "Bat Lady," because she manipulates coronaviruses that infect bats.

During questioning from Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky, Tony Fauci denied that this same Ralph Baric had conducted gain-of-function research. This is the Ralph Baric in Fauci's attachment entitled, "Baric, Shi et al - SARS Gain of Function." YUnder oath, Fauci denied it: "Dr. Baric does not do gain function research. And if it is, it's according to the guidelines and it is being conducted in North Carolina...And if you look at the grant and you look at the progress reports, it is not gain function despite the fact that people tweet that."

So, your claim is that incredibly intelligent man who survived in government for thirty-odd years or whatever sent an email attachment with the name of a person on the paper civically claiming it doesn't think that he then stood before a congressional committee and claimed it was not true.

If that thing was in a paper in nature, it was an easily verifiable fact that he would be then lying, which anybody with an internet could confirm.

That's your theory, that he lied in front of Congress about an easily verifiable fact based on a paper published in the journal that is easily accessible to anybody with the university account or willing to pay $35.

I don't think you saw the same interview that I saw. I think you saw the interview that you wanted to see.

Because even if he did lie, perjury isn't "he fibbed." It requires a specific set of circumstances.

The day of the Buzzfeed dump, I saw an awful lot of cherry-picking. One Twitter Twit was waving around an E-mail from March 2020 and screaming that Trump was right about hydroxychloroquine. There's a lot of "may haves" coming from that article.  When trump "may have" used his office for financial gain it's completely unfair for the media to look into that, but when there's tiny chance of COVID-19 coming from a lab it's completely irresponsible for Fauci to downplay that scenario.

There are many possible sources for COVID, but not all are equally possible.  We shouldn't invest resources into investing low probability sources until the high probability ones have been ruled out.

Well, about 16 months ago he wasn't sure about the necessity of masks, yet -- then he saw data that made him know that marks were indeed the way to go, about 2 weeks after that.

In a new pandemic, this seems about par for the course.

Without providing am example of anyone else who actually knew better than him him - before or since then, conservatives have decided that he deserves a treatment similar to The Rosenbergs. Or, preferably, something more medieval.

Which is absolutely hilarious, since it doesn't farking matter how the novel coronavirus came to be (although I'd still bet the house on nature over human intervention as the root cause); Trump and the GOP screwed the pooch royally in responding to a pandemic that they knew was coming months prior to acting. When they did act, it was denial and magical thinking, and a total lack of policy guidance.
So let them cry about Fauci all they want, they farked up on a grand scale and there's no getting around that. Fauci was trying to mitigate their stupidity, if anything.
I realize the GQP thinks this should be legally actionable, but ultimately they own it.

China kept a lid on the severity of this outbreak.  It got out of hand and they could not contain it.  In the early days, Trump restricted any travel from China.  His actions to combat this pandemic were overshadowed by current events going on at that time.  Remember?  they were in the middle of their second un-needed impeachment trial.  Most news coverage centered on that.  Any mention of this virus coming from China was call racist.  Any mention that this might be man made and not from the wet market was met with disdain. And the messenger received hate from the haters who thought they knew better.
