Nope
Don't go down memory lane
Just nope

2021-06-04 6:20:34 AM
Wedding Crashers was good in the fact that it brought back the R-rated comedy from the PG-13 hellscape that was the 90's. Other than that, rather forgettable.

The humor in the original was thin enough. A sequel is just going to be painful to watch. No thanks.

2021-06-04 6:43:43 AM
Wouldn't the sequel be called "Funeral Crashers"?

2021-06-04 7:04:16 AM
Really?? a hand job under the table and no one sitting there notices, that's about the only thing I remember about this complete piece of crap

2021-06-04 7:06:31 AM
Isla should have shown the goods in the first one.

2021-06-04 7:06:52 AM
I swear this was already a thing.

Is Will Ferrell returning?  That's the only part of the movie that was memorable for me.

weirdneighbour: Really?? a hand job under the table and no one sitting there notices, that's about the only thing I remember about this complete piece of crap

Handjob under the table and the people just rolled with it. Though to be fair, if I was there I'd probably just not address it either.

2021-06-04 7:55:56 AM
Isla Fisher was the only good thing about that movie but they should let it go.

There's a lot of sequels coming out now that should have been made like a decade ago, if at all.

Whose idea was that?  What an idiot!  What a loser!

Maybe there will be more Diora Baird in this one!?!

BigMax: Is Will Ferrell returning?  That's the only part of the movie that was memorable for me.

I very much like his guest roles way better than his starting roles.  This movie and 'The Goods: Live Hard Sell Hard' come to mind.

I mean a sequel might have been funny 10 years ago, but hasn't it been like 20 years since it came out?

I like the movie but leave it alone man.

2021-06-04 8:26:24 AM
Are they bringing back Jane Seymour :-)

2021-06-04 8:34:44 AM
As opposed to other sequels, which everyone wants?

Well, Aliens was pretty good.  And Evil Dead 2.

That's all I got.

Dazed and Confused, every Kevin Smith movie, Swingers, Office Space, Basekeball, American Pie, how many do you need?

If you die over 85 everyone else is dead or in a home.

Funeral crashers must happen at this point in their lives

Of those, American Pie was the only real blockbuster and oddly enough launched a wave of watered down teen sex comedies instead of building on the original raunch.  Without Wedding Crashers it's arguable we don't get the revival of adult focused comedies like The Hangover, Bridesmaids and most of the Apatow films.

Yeah, no one has heard of any of those movies and aren't quoted daily on this site alone.

I never saw it. Same goes for the sequel that will come out.

As usual, the critical community and box office success of the movie are both wrong. Only WE know that it was bad. We're so smart. Thank goodness we're here.

Being quoted in an internet board is not the same as making piles of cash money for Hollywood execs. Fark had articles back when this came out on how Wedding Crashers brought back big money for the R-rated comedy.

It is more of how Trading Places and those type of movies fro the 80s were not being made in the 90's  because PG-13 was where the mobey was at. Were there r-rayed comedies? Yeah but not with the Hollywood machine in high gear.

I've been watching a lot of one-season shows this last year.  "The Cool Kids", set in a retirement community, did an episode on that.

Dazed and Confused 1993 -box office of $8 million
Kevin Smith's movies - LOL, not even going to bother
Swingers - 1996 - $4.6 million
Office Space - 1999 - $12.2 million
Baseketball - 1998 - $7 million
Big Lebowski - 1998 - $46 million
South Park - an animated movie with built in tv audience - 1999 - $83.1 million
Fear and Loathing - 1998 - $13.7 million

American Pie - $235.5 million
Wedding Crashers 2005 - $288 million

How much in video sales and merchandising did American Pie and Wedding Crashers make compared to those other films?

Mugato: FLMountainMan:

I would think the 4 main American Pie films have exceeded the merchandising off all of the other films combined. Heck, the American pie direct to video movies probably exceed all the other films merchandising.

The only the even closely competes is the cool factor of Big Lebowski and its fan convention. Although it doesn't compete in money, just coolness.

Love her.  I always thought if they ever remade Barbarella, it should star Diora Baird.

Dazed and Confused is more of a drama with comedy elements, but the R-rated comedy came back with There's Something About Mary.

Dazed and Confused a drama? Pink was whining about signing his football paper but other that it was American Graffiti only funny.

The only important news in that story is that Isla Fisher will be included.

Spider-man 2 (Sam Raimi, largely has been supplanted by Tom Holland's though)
The Dark Knight
Terminator 2
Silence of the Lambs sort of counts
Superman 2
Star Trek 2, Wrath of Khan
Dawn of the Dead
Bride of Frankenstein

Haven't thought about that movie in years.  I should give that another day in court.  That's directed by Peter Berg, though, isn't it?  He's fine enough as a bit actor, but I can't stand his directing.
