The water tower? It's been right there in that same spot for over a century.

It's a block from the beach, no AC necessary, might need some heat though.

I wonder how they got away with building it that high?

For $5 million I expect the house to have an elevator.  At least a domestic freight one big enough to hold bulky furniture.

There's no trap door cutout for that case of stairs going to the first floor deck.

the part of the Netflix thing where the girl talks about showering and brushing her teeth in the water that tasted bad and smelled because there was a dead body in it made me ill. even thinking about it made puke in my mouth a little.

so... i used to work on fire towers and rigging up a home made elevator isn't exactly the most complicated thing to do. It involves a few pulleys and some good ropes and some buckets filled with rocks.

Making that or a swing crane for the deck would be fun.  My dad put in a cargo elevator and code enforcement was looking over his shoulder for most of the installation, though.

I just just read the history. Because it was a historic water tower they converted to a house.  Regular houses are not allowed to build that high near the beach.
Your answer was lame.  I have passed by that place since the early 90's and never looked at the history before.

In my home town a man was found dead in the municipal water tank. Next day at school: Why do Griffith women have such beautiful hair? It's all the body in the water. Boom Boom. He was in there for 18 months!!!

That is not an answer, very vague. I didn't even know what you meant.  Whether you are just having fun or a jerk I have to ask, whinge?
I know now I Googled, we never use that term her in California. Go Peter Jackson!

Then you went and read the article and found the answer, mission accomplished. Go me!

And you're even finding answers in advance now. You're a quick learner.

Although the question appeared to be a bit unnecessary as a result.

I like how you think using someone's country in an unrelated manner is somehow an attack.

Using your country of origin in conversation was in response to you being condescending.
But it is 3AM for me, not sure about you, lets get back to your best export, Peter Jackson!
He was great director on Lord of the Rings, but who remembers him for Dead Alive or Braindead?

Idgi.

'You were condescending so I'll bring...your people and country of residence into it.'

...?

To...make me feel bad?

It sounds like the kind of thing a bigot would do. I mean imagine I were Asian (half of me is, other half is Scottish) and living in an Asian country (not since I was like, 2). Or somewhere more marginalized, like African.

'Oh you were condenscending, well you live in Kenya, right, take that! Let that be a lesson to you.'

So good luck with your bigotry I guess. It won't get you far in this modern world.

dyhchong, Yes I am white, I am not a bigot. Not even sure where you got that from. I am from California, I grew up with people from all over the world and all religions.
I went to a wedding of a Czech and a Slovenian, in their part of the world they hated each other, here in California they found love and married.
Don't even say I don't understand Asian food, I am white but grew up using chopsticks because California was a leader in foreign foods. I grew up with my burgers and fries but I also grew up eating Sushi, Sashimi, Tempura, Moo Shu Pork, Peking Duck, Yakitori, Shabu Shabu, Sukiyaki, Thai peanut chicken skewers, Pilipino Chicken Adobo, and all the great Szechuan dishes.
Here in California I can have it all and I grew up eating it all.

This is my cat, he says let it go.

Holy shiat that was actually a, 'I'm not a racist, one of my friends is black' reply.

I haven't had one of those in real life. My experience of those are in memes.

You even brought food in as if I attacked your understanding of it (which is a brand new subject) and named all the foreign foods you like in defense of your love for foreigners.
