I'm not sure the numbers are even that good, at least for Louisiana.

The stats on Nola.com show about 35% of Louisianans have at least initiated vaccinations. That's a far cry from the 44% cited in the article.

Convenient that four of the five abut against Florida.

Ship Wyoming's and Tennessee's unvaccinated residents there too.

My family is mostly red voters but found the best way to get people around them to wear masks was to say it's a "middle class, white collar" thing.  Fear of social status is an evil insecurity to play against people.

Just don't wear white masks after Labor Day.

In my county, Dane county WI, 76% have been at least partially vaccinated. We might actually hit the 80% (nobody knows exactly) needed for the almost mythical herd immunity.  I think that we should seal the borders though, rumor is that "outlying" areas are making the trip in to enjoy the opening businesses.  People are still wearing masks though, I was in the grocery store today and maybe 75% are still wearing them. Was in a gas station yesterday where I was the only one.

There are lots of people in those states who do not want to die, and many who are unable to be vaccinated (including children, currently), but they are stuck living under bad leadership. I don't think they deserve to die.

so, here in a trump-lovin' part of SW FL, i work in retail in a store with about 300 employees. anyone fully vaxxed can work maskless, and it's PURELY on the honor system.

.......and i would say pretty much ALL the employees age 45 and younger (other than me, one month fully vaxxed, today. yay!) are still wearing masks. from managers to lot guys. whereas ALL the older employees are now (apparently) vaxxed.

this leaves me confused. these are people who biatched about the mask requirement for an entire year. and they MUST think COVID is real, or they would just lie and not mask (i know only ONE employee breaking the rule). SO, well, what gives? do they just think they can be unvaxxed forever, yet one day the world will magically be maskless again?

again, i've deduced from their behavior they believe in COVID, fear it enough to mask, HATE masks, and yet have NO plans to ever vax themselves or their kids (when that's fully allowed).

and that's A LOT of the people i see everywhere. in my store. in walgreens, publix, walmart......at least 40% of the total adults i see appear to be more afraid of the vaccines than the COVID, yet still scared enough of the COVID to mask up.

my own cousins in their 30s, a firefighter and a NICU nurse, have both refused the vaccines (one thinks firefighters are too young and tough to need it, the other believes farkin' facebook that the vax will hideously harm the babies she MIGHT have in 5 years....)

and that's it. science and truth have lost. america is pretty much a failed state and she ISN'T going to "turn the corner" and get better ever again. we're done here.

i weep for my once beloved country  😭

That's actually a really cool map. Aside from the obvious facts, is there any map that represents the counties using population size instead of voter leaning preference?

oh? you SINCERELY THINK, from your own observations, that the majority of currently "adult" people living in america (let's go 18 YOs and up here) highly value science and critical thinking?

they think "truth" is objective (not belief based or "just one possible opinion")?

they know how to identify a reliable source?

and, on top of all that, they are prepared to live (and raise their own offspring) in a world of drastic climate change? complete with flooded coasts AND interior "grain belt/salad bowl" agricultural desertification? with the accompanying mass migration and water wars? with the NEXT pandemic illness?

and then throw deepfakes and "the culture of influencers and fame" on top of that?

so, you think america is "STILL number one!" and ready to THRIVE again?

PLEASE, do tell! -

give lots of examples/citations! it'll be really fun for you! have a go! i'll wait.......

Is it me or is it hard to find reliable numbers regarding vaccination? I know there's a difference between one shot, two shots, and two shots+two weeks, but even with that qualified I keep seeing way different numbers from different sources.

oh? did we have mass protests against the MMR vax? the one for chickenpox? the other ones for shingles (for people old enough that the pox vax wasn't invented)? and the only people fighting against the ones for HPV (to fight farking CANCER) are religious anti-sex weirdos....
